Cardinals bracing for Hamshire-Fannett

FANNETT — For a coach whose team is 0-8, Bridge City’s Cris Stump sure is excited this week.

The Cardinals were bounced 67-25 last week at the hands of the Kirbybville Wildcats and now hit the road to face the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns.

The Longhorns are coming off of a 17-14 loss to the Orangefield Bobcats and now sit at 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the District 21-3A standings.

A Bridge City (0-8, 0-5) win would eliminate the Longhorns from any playoff talks.......
