Always good for a school when they can get one of the few elite coaches!

Yeah, the guy that left wasn't elite at all. Only had a career .885 win percentage in over a decade on the sideline vs Morris' .806 win percentage before he went to the college ranks. I guess Westeberg would've never been elite if he didn't coach at Allen first since he has a .690 win percentage at Barbers Hill comprised of one district championship, three third place finishes and a fifth place finish?

If he didn't have the rings they would've run him out of town like they did Don Price who had a stretch of 5 undefeated regular seasons in an 8 years stretch before the elite Ronnie Gage showed up with his two rings got run off even quicker.

If history is any indicator he won't. Did stay at Stephenville for 5 years but I'd imagine since he's back in the high school ranks that when Randy Allen finally leaves Highland Park then Morris leaves Allen too?

I think he'll stay 3yrs then bolt for a college OC job or mid-major HC job.

Arkansas owing him millions of dollars probably helps this move back to high school not be that hard of a decision.

Yup! Should've seen the Razorback group chat today, a bunch wanted him gone and rightfully so, but now some of those same ppl mad he got a top-notch HS HC gig, funny stuff.

I think he'll do an amazing job at Allen. Doubt Arkansas will be able to step on-campus to recruit though. 😁

Wasn't inferring any thing against the previous coach.  Just making a statement that it's good when any school can get an elite coach.  Morris has 3 State Championships which puts him in the elite category.

As for as Westerberg, again, he's earned his elite status.  Just like when one becomes a Hall of Famer: It's what one has accomplished and it's not taken away.  Westerberg has been there only 5 years.  Who knows, it make take 6 or 10 years.  It took Briles 7 years for the first Title at Stephenville.  Things may be a little tougher at BH.  Who would you rather be trying to gain a Title, one with Westerberg's back ground or a coach that came in with an 0-30 previous head coaching record?

Idiots at BH for getting rid of Don Price. He was one of the best BH ever had and was very successful in ALL sports. His FB teams were the last real good teams in BH. But just like they tend to do over there... they'd rather have a big name who won championships in big schools that had completely OPPISITE demographics and abilities than BH. All the transplants want to make BH a "big" school, using "big" school mentality. Instead of remembering their history and what made them successful.

With just like anything, success is in the eye of the beholder.  When's the last time Barbers Hill won a State Title?

Well, they certainly haven't since the 2010 season (10 years) despite continuously being under the tutelage of "elite" coaching (Gage and Westerberg).

The answer to your question is 1976.

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
