Orangefield 5-1      Open, at Silsbee

Silsbee        4-1       Vidor, Orangefield

LCM             3-2       at BC, at Lumberton

One more game left in the first round, better hold on tight it's going to be a bumpy ride in district 22-4A.

So Lumberton is the only one that has beat Silsbee?

After the first half of district play, thru 4/7

                                     Friday

Silsbee             5-1      Orangefield

Orangefield     5-1       at Silsbee

Lumberton      3-3       LCM

LCM                 3-3       at Lumberton

Bridge City      3-3       Vidor

Vidor                2-4       at BC

WOS                0-6        Open

Would you look at these match ups to open the second half of district play.  The league leader and second place going at it Silsbee v Orangefield, two teams tied for second Lumberton v LCM, two teams going in opposite directions BC v Vidor. This district is so close things change in a hurry. None stop action in 22-4A.

Thru 4/9                        Next week

Orangefield     6-1         BC, at Lumberton

Silsbee            5-2         Open, at BC

LCM                4-3          WOS, Open

BC                   4-3         at OF, Silsbee

Lumberton      3-4        at Vidor, OF

Vidor               2-5         Lumberton, at WOS

WOS                0-6         at LCM, Vidor

On a night of some great match ups we saw two games go into extra innings and then BC starting to be BC. We saw the district leaders go head to head and OF edging Silsbee in extras, a pair of second place teams going into extra innings and LCM edging Lumberton, and BC starting to find their grove in district beating Vidor. Big time important games next week. Don't blink on 22-4A

LCM and BC have identical records, BC has the tiebreaker in head to head competition at the moment. This district is far from decided, lots of good ball left to play and the parity is off the chart this year!

Thru  4-17              Next Week

Orangefield  8-1    WOS, at LCM

Silsbee         5-3    Lumberton, at WOS

LCM             5-3    at Vidor, OF

BC                5-4   HF, at Lumberton

Lumberton  4-5    at Silsbee, BC

Vidor           3-6     LCM, at PNG

WOS             0-8    at OF, Silsbee

Orangefield is separating themselves from the rest of the district, Silsbee has lost two in a row and moved out of first place into second, LCM is hanging on with every breath they take in a tie for second, BC holding onto the fourth spot but making some noise, Lumberton one game out of a playoff spot, Vidor needs to find a way to get consistent and right the ship, WOS has been eliminated from playoffs.

Thru 4/21                        Friday Opponent

Orangefield   9-1            at LCM

Silsbee          6-3           at WOS

LCM              6-3           OF

Bridge City   5-4           at Lumberton

Lumberton   4-6           BC

Vidor            3-7            at PNG

WOS             0-9           Silsbee

Orangefield has at least a district co-champ and with a win will be district champs. Silsbee with a win will have a playoff spot and still a shot at a district co-champ with a OF loss. LCM with a win will have a playoff spot. BC with a win will have a playoff spot. Lumberton with a win still has slim playoff hopes. Vidor still has a shot, yes, it is mathematically possible. WOS is playing the spoiler.

Thru 4/24

Orangefield     9-2    Vidor, Open

Silsbee            7-3    LCM, at Vidor

LCM                7-3    at Silsbee, BC

Vidor              3-7     at OF, Silsbee

WOS               0-10   at BC, Lumberton

What a wacky Saturday in 22-4A

Orangefield slipped a little in their quest for the district championship, Silsbee had to go into extra innings to get a sloppy win and hopes of a share of the championship, LCM hangs on to a shot at a share of the championship, BC took a hit on securing a playoff spot, Lumberton hanging on for dear life for the last playoff spot, Vidor sat back and kept an eye on the district on this crazy day, WOS did everything it could to play spoiler but couldn’t finish.
It’s the last week in District 22-4A, better hang on it’s going to be a bumpy landing.

Scenarios for seeding in 22-4A as of 2/25

Orangefield, Silsbee and LCM are in. Orangefield is the only team that can be solo district champs. There can be  co-champs.

LCM needs to win out and a OF loss for co-champs or LCM needs to win out for the #2 seed or LCM needs to win out and a Silsbee win over Vidor for a tie for #2 seed;

BC needs to win out and have ether Silsbee or LCM lose out for a tie for #3 seed or BC needs to win out for #4 seed;

Lumberton needs to win and have BC lose out for #4 seed or have a Lumberton win and BC lose one of two games for a tie for #4 seed;

    • I have no issue with that however…. Rick Perry, although seemingly not really popular even with Republicans, was almost impossible to beat. The Texas conservatives just needed that tough, real conservative with an already popular voting base. Someone that has been elected to both Texas state office and federal office.  Boom! In 2010 in steps Kay Bailey Hutchison, a popular sitting US Senator and former Texas Treasurer. So she has been elected, statewide in both a state political position and nationally as a senator. A Rasmussen poll in 2009 showed Hutchison with a 40% to 38% lead over Perry. She had high profile endorsements as did Perry. Hutchison was endorsed by the likes of G H W Bush, Nolan Ryan, Roger Staubach, etc. If people are actually going to listen to endorsements, those are some fairly well thought of people in Texas. Primary day was between Perry, Hutchison and Debra Medina. Hutchison was beaten by Perry 51% to 30% and he got enough votes to avoid a runoff. Obviously, that has no bearing on today. It does show that just because a person is very popular and already elected to national office from Texas such as Kay Bailey Hutchison, it does not ensure a good showing in the polls against an incumbent. It will be interesting for sure.
    • WOW what a game. just got home, I'm gonna sleep with a big smile all night. PNG QB passes were spot on tonight, lil #17 freshman receiver had huge catches at critical times in the game. # 44 had a couple of huge catches including the 'jump pass' on 4th down for a touchdown.  #4 made big plays at key times on both sides of the ball, he is a beast. #11 played his usual consistent game with big time catches and a couple of good punts and a good job of just falling on a bobbled kick reception. #27 probably had 125 yards or so rushing. The defensive backs did a good job, bending but not breaking including the interception in the end zone. I thought the TH coaches messed up not trying to score with the high power players they have when they got the fumble right before half with 45 seconds or so on the clock and 3 TO left, if they would have scored then it would have broke our backs. I know it was 90 yards to go but they could cover the field in 3 or 4 plays. This is one of the most exciting wins in PNG's long history of exciting wins. Oh yeah kudos to the fans for getting in to the game at key times and in my Opinion making a big difference. 😂
    • To the 41 individuals that picked TH…..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Round 4 here we come!
