KFDM COOP Posted November 2, 2007 Report Posted November 2, 2007 Seahawks travel to Baytown on SaturdayThe Lamar State College-Port Arthur men's basketball team travels toBaytown on Saturday for a 7 p.m. game against the Lee College Runnin'Rebels, who are led by former PA Memorial standout Dominque Keller, apre-season All-American selection this fall.The Seahawks opened their season Thursday in Beeville with an 80-66win over Coastal Bend College.Sophomore guard Noah Cole from Vidor picked up where he left offlast season, scoring 20 points to lead all Lamar State scorers. Freshmanforwards George Williamson from Vidor and Seth Harley from LittleCypress-Mauriceville each contributed 13 points, while freshman post JohnPayton from Beaumont scored 10 points.Freshman forward P-Nutt Boutte, a former standout at Beaumont OzenHigh School, collared 11 rebounds and added 8 points for the Seahawks.Lee College finished in the middle of the Region XIV pack in 2007with a 16-15 overall record and 10-12 in conference play.Lamar State is 0-5 against Lee in the four years since the collegeadded intercollegiate sports in 2004. The Seahawks lost twice to the Rebelsthis past year.Lamar State's home opener will be next Tuesday night against Cy-FairCollege. The Seahawks also will play at home next Thursday against TempleCollege and Saturday versus Angelina College. All three games begin at 7 p.m. in the Carl Parker Center, 1800Lakeshore Drive on the Lamar State campus.
