They asked on the KJAS broadcast when the last time was that Jasper scored 60+ twice in a season. The answer? 1953 when they beat Kirbyville (61-0) and San Augustine (75-6) in consecutive weeks.

That is when I left.  Nice hard hitting by both teams.  HJ certainly had some athletes but you could tell they had nothing to play for.  Reminded me of last year's Jasper/Silsbee game.

I think it was just coach brooks and his staff just moving kids around to different positions. And now it finally just clicked. And The freshmen tamon leach....wow he scored twice.

I think he finally realized that the grass is greener in Jasper and that he'll stay. He's said that he only wants to coach a few more years anyway, but who knows how long that will be...
