We had a tight end in 2017 that a lot of people said was soft.... He red shirt in 18 and has started the last two years at baylor on the o-line

He was really a WR, but if you see his size, you'd think he was a TE.  lol  That's why I nicknamed him T.O.

Been a long time, but Michael Hendricks from Baytown Sterling signed with Florida State in the early 90's.

Great TE. He was killed during his freshman year at FSU while he was back in Baytown. He was electrocuted while climbing on an electrical tower. Kids had been going there for a while. Terrible accident.

Yup , he played basketball as well. His little brother Jared, went to Texas Tech on a football scholarship as well but didn't really pan out with him there. Not sure what happened with that.

Caleb Shelly 2010 got a scholarship to Lamar University. He eventually transferred to another college

Blake Martin from Hemphill was a good one. Went on to have a stellar career at Sam Houston State being named First Team All-American.

Blake was a stud at Sam. Didn’t know he was from Hemphill.

Back to Chris Royal though. I got a buddy that swears he was a TE.

Not my school but Shepherd (Arkansas Razorback) standout Jonathon Morris was picked by NY Jets in draft.  He was also pretty good in basketball at Shepherd

Yup he played basketball too, he graduated in 2003. So he wasn't on those good Pirate basketball teams we had between 2003-2005.
