FACTS: Bronco defense gets the fourth shutout over five games against district opponents and overall, in district play, have given up an average of 3.5 points per game. PNG is second, having given up an average of 16.67 points per game. The Bronco offense is averaging, in district play, is averaging 35+ points a game. PNG is next, averaging 30, but as yet, have not faced the best defense in the district, bar none. The comparisons made are against common opponents. Is the picture coming into focus yet?

TRUTH: Many of those picking PNG to knock off Dayton have the Indians scoring 21 or more points and Dayton only scoring 14 or less.

QUESTION: HOw does that figure.

SUPPOSITION: Participants are making their predictions based solely upon a desired outcome rather than a logical calculation.

PS - Last week, Nederland was the offensive leader with points scored, now they're last among the four contenders. The only game that counts for "playoff contention" next week is Nederland and Lumberton. Loser stays home. PNG and Dayton are in.

Your "supposition" is correct.  Like the Bronco fan that said Dayton would put 48 points on PNG.
