He brings way more money back into that program then he draws back. Way more. If $175k really won't touch what he's currently making then he's probably not bringing way more into the program than he draws? With the way he's winning the community is definitely more apt to donate funds or approve bonds though. Carthage's stadium holds 6k so call it $50k per game average the district clears for a total of $250k for the five home games. Give them another $100k for merchandising and playoff games which totals $350k for the football program. The football program doesn't pay his salary but if it did that's about 50% of what it would gross annually. Like you said, he's worth whatever the community allows the board to pay him. I just think it's interesting that his individual salary is over 3X what the average household income is in Carthage. Quote

Separation Scientist Posted June 3, 2021 Report Posted June 3, 2021 Abseck would be a great hire. Cedar Park plays smart and hard. High energy! Quote
Uncle Pig Posted June 3, 2021 Report Posted June 3, 2021 Word is there’s a dark horse candidate emerging. La Porte offensive line coach Jimmy “Bones” Beasley was seen touring the lavish BH facilities with the supt earlier today. Don’t be surprised if they pull the trigger on this one quickly. That would definitely be an upgrade for him. 😁 Quote

bullets13 Posted June 8, 2021 Report Posted June 8, 2021 so what's the haps? Now that Saban signed an extension with Alabama are they back at square one? piratevillain and Mr. Buddy Garrity 2 Quote
Rez Posted June 11, 2021 Report Posted June 11, 2021 It seems Bh is waiting an awfully long time to choose the new HC. The new guy will have under two months to get things in place, and that’s if they made a decision today. (Which, based on this thread, hasn’t happened yet). But I don’t have any perspective as to how long new coaches usually have prior to the new season. Quote
2wedge Posted June 11, 2021 Report Posted June 11, 2021 Seems like Mr. Dodge may have used BH in the same way Saban uses Texas every couple of years. Probably secured a bit of a raise out of the whole ordeal. Quote
BHFAN Posted June 11, 2021 Report Posted June 11, 2021 Shhh we’re trying to bring home a another State Championship, then we can deal with a Coach 👍 Separation Scientist, Rez and Steven Avery 1 2 Quote
Separation Scientist Posted June 11, 2021 Report Posted June 11, 2021 I hope BH makes the right choice, not necessarily the fast choice. Its worth waiting to get the right one. Rez and Reagan 2 Quote

The Icon Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Toby was witnessed getting his daily half marathon in at the Eagle Pointe Rec in Mont Belvieu this morning. When asked about his interest in the Barbers Hill opening, he was quoted as saying he doesn’t comment on contract negotiations. Quote

Having a somewhat late hire "might" cost a team game or two during the season (or not), but the most important thing is getting the right candidate for long term success. Right candidates are really hard to come by, so any temporary inconvenience for this season is worth it. Hire the right guy when you can, whenever it might be. Quote
navydawg31 Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 It’s a head coach of a Austin area high school…. Quote
saltydawg Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Is he currently a Head Coach or was he one in the past and now in administration? Quote

navydawg31 Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Is Carl Abseck coming to the hill…? Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted June 14, 2021 Report Posted June 14, 2021 Well after what I just got told im interested in seeing if "he" can roll in some transfer athletes, cause I sure thought Westy would do it but it didn't happen. We shall see I guess. I agree with Uncle Pig up above......for now. Quote

Write that down No, I am not going to write anything down. There are numerous examples of State Champs who probably thought they would never win it. Besides that, why discourage anyone? What do you get out of doing that? Quote
