I don't have an issue with people being who they want to be, but I don't necessarily want to have to have a conversation with my 5 and 8 year olds about transgender and drag queens.

Unfortunately, you might not have a choice if he/she asks. I dont discriminate against the LBGT community. To each it's own.

I understand this, but I would prefer the question not to arise from watching a children's television channel.

But it’s not to each his/her own. It’s, you have to agree with me and my deviant ways or else I’ll drag you down and get you fired.

As a gay male, "preying" is a ridiculous use of verbiage and offensive.

Then what is it....you gonna come up with another name so it lessens the negative connotation.....

like using abortion instead of murder

using fetus instead of baby.

it s astonishing how far people will go to justify wrongs.

Your lifestyle is offensive to a greater being than myself. You ever thought of that.....Conscience.

And don’t come on here trying to justify a wrong doing by other s wrong doings.  That’s a weak and lame argument.

I have a cousin that is gay.....He knows I love him but he also knows I disapprove of his lifestyle.

broadcasting that lifestyle is not for the greater good PERIOD.

and especially when it comes to lil children.

What?

What I mean to say is that your complicit stance of “To each (sic) it’s own” doesn’t really fit. Very often unless you fervently embrace the LGBTQ1C… practices and ideology then you will be marked as a bigoted hate monger. They will attempt to cancel you.

The issue I have with this argument, which I hear from the most conservative bunch quite often, is not one of them doesn't have some sort of lifestyle or sin that they're doing regularly.  I don't know you at all, so I don't know what yours is, but I'm positive there's a sin that you do regularly without any real effort to stop.  I've never really understood why homosexuality became the sin that the religious right put up on a pedestal as the "worst" sin.  I guess because it's nasty to think about?

as for the second argument: I already stated I don't want my kids being exposed to stuff like that on Nickolodeon.  But literally every sin is glorified on tv and movies these days, but just like in the previous paragraph, there's only one sin that needs to "quit being shoved down our throats."  It's just a hypocrisy of the church I've never really been able to understand, even with my 20 or so college hours of Christian studies and 4-year degree from a Baptist college.

Religious people are some of the biggest hypocrites on this planet.. nothing new here

I just find it comical that people who don't want their kids exposed to Christianity at school  also believe that my kids should be exposed LGBTQ indoctrination/programming at a young age.

My point is this... I have my beliefs on homosexuality and what it means to me.  I don't need people blasting my kids with "God hates gays," and I also don't need anybody blasting my kids with "you can pick your own gender," either.

True story.... when i was a kid I can remember adults being really put out that Jack Tripper was pretending to be gay on "Three's Company." They didn't have a problem with him being a horn-dog, just with the pretending to be gay part.  Even at a young age I disagreed.  But the answer given to me was "first they get you to laugh at it, then they make it acceptable, then they force you to embrace it."  I think we're at that third stage now, and looking back it went off of the rails somewhere between Jack Tripper and "stories with a drag queen" for your kindergartner.

I didn't take it mean that homosexuals were more likely to prey upon children than a hetero is to prey up on a child of the opposite sex.   I think (or at least I hope) he's talking about outsiders trying to impress kids with their own views on sexuality before most parents would be willing to have that type of conversation with their own kids.

And as Christian, I think labeling peoples' Biblically based beliefs as "offensive" or "hate speech" a little over-the-top as well.

I think you should be free to do whatever you want and I the same... as long as we're not trampling each other's rights, there's no problem.

Lastly, I don't think God is any more bothered by your homosexuality than he is by my sleeping around. But He hasn't gotten back with me on that, lol.   No hate, my man.

Yes, we all sin.  I can’t throw stones, but this is not about individuals, it’s about television network(s) throwing stuff at kids they shouldn’t.  Would anyone want those Networks showing pornography?  Of course not.  Young children are not mature enough (IMO) to decide on their gender or sexual orientation.  Kids should be kids.  To many are growing up at to early an age.  I hate to see young kids & teenagers who’ve already lost the sparkle in their eyes.  To many have the eyes of a 40 year old.  Breaks my heart.

totally agree.  I was referencing adults complaining about it being thrown at adults, while they soak up shoot em ups glorifying murder, or movies with all kinds of heterosexual adult themes, etc.

True story. I'm have too many discussions weekly with my 12 year old granddaughter explaining why we, as Christians, oppose to LGBTQ, gay pride, pride month etc. All the while Nicleodean is promoting, indoctrinating the gay life acceptance. She wants to know why I hate gay people. (that's what she's being fed). I'm defending my beliefs to her and trying to explain that we love gay people, love the sinner, hate the sin.
