Are we letting the pedos join yet?

It’s coming.  You can go to the bank.  I try to understand gay folks.  I think some are born to it, while others choose it.  What I’ll never understand is why they take such pride in it.  Imo, it’s less pride and more “in your face”.

Some years back, my wife & daughter visited my SIster-in-Law just outside SF.  The gays walked around with their hands on each other’s behinds.  Something wrong with that picture.

I don’t have a problem with it.  I’m just not going to go.

I Share your sentiments.  No problem with it at all.  Everyone should be happy and comfortable.  Just like in Galveston, there is a beach party for party goers, then there is the other beach party called 'Splash' for the LGBTQ.  Apparently, both fun events.  Whatever floats your boat I guess.  I'm just saying, it will NEVER by my job to judge anyone, ultimately.

BINGO......

Not my cup of tea, but I support safe events

I’m like y’all. I don’t have an issue with it, although I have no plans to attend. I’m just wondering why have the event in the first place? Is it the need for acceptance? Is it just to make that community merge into a place of normalcy? Just wondering “why” more than anything.

I personally feel they are trying to get acceptance by attention, which is fine. I don't like when people are accused of being homophobic when stating they disagree with that lifestyle. I don't like mushrooms but I'm not scared of them, nor do I hate them or wish them any harm.  I'm a straight married male, and I have never looked for approval from anyone about which sex I prefer.

I think that the key is that people remember that their beliefs are exactly that.... theirs.  If I believe it's sinful, what I really need to remember is that what I actually believe is that it's wrong for ME to participate.  Not that I need to make sure that nobody else participates.

By the other token, people who DO believe that homosexuality isn't immoral need to remember that a lot of people DO believe that it is. Going around trying to convince people to change THEIR belief systems to match yours seldom works, regardless of whose beliefs are being challenged.

I think it’s just the thing of mutual happiness and excitement.  They’ve been frowned upon, shunned, and discriminated against since forever.  They’re just showing pride in what they believe in.

I think you’re right, and I was expecting that response which leads me to my second question:

Is it newsworthy that a decent sized handful of folks wanted to walk through Beaumont to celebrate their sexuality?

I guess so, if you also think it's important to celebrate every time a person is the "first" of their sex, race, hair color, religion or other characteristic does something that's already been done a bunch of times.

Well, it’s not anything hateful. And I see where you’re going with that statement.  My rebuttal would be ‘you know what I mean’.

Well when you open pandora s box.....

Just be ready and accepting for any and every type of evil belief.

that’s where people fail to see the problem with allowing such things.

I think so.  Gay people have came a long way.  Just sheer happiness and confidence leads to these kind of marches.  Believe it or not, there’s a LOT more people that think this is newsworthy than you think.

I wouldn’t really call it Pandora’s box, maybe so about 40 years ago…

I would just call it a belief.  No evil.  That would probably be more spot on.

A problem you say?  You do realize you can have a March for dang near anything.  A pride March is no exception…

When I mean problem I’m talking bigger than just a march......when society starts allowing such beliefs then your opening yourself up to a whole slew of things......as we see today......and we ll see even more as time goes on.

Not for being white... you'd be labeled a white supremacist and you'd probably lose your job for attending.

I don't think I'm exaggerating.
