Bellville vs Giddings

After two scrimmages it’s time for the real deal. As far as my thoughts after scrimmages and two a days. Numbers are good, Looking like Varsity will have about 38 on varsity, 35 on JV, and 30 on the freshman team. Richard Reese (Baylor Commit) and Robert Briggs (Utah State commit) weren’t featured a whole lot but when they did play in the scrimmages it went as expected. Jake Lischka will return for his 3rd straight year as the starting QB which hasn’t happened for Bellville since the 70s lol. You look at this team and of course the offense sticks out but I think the defense is underrated, lead by DCTF pre season district defensive player of the year LB Tyler Fischbeck. The secondary will be the question but looked good vs Navasota and Smithville.  Another player to keep a eye on that will most likely start on the defensive line will be Freshman DJ Sanders at 6’3 300 lbs. Yes his cousin is NFL WR Emmanuel Sanders. But all in all it should be a great season for us. Giddings is always a good game regardless of rank. They play extremely physical and disciplined football. Good luck to the rest of region 3 this season and let’s get this thing started!

They return 5 starters on each side of the ball. Their QB is pretty decent and they have a big WR for him to throw to. They always put a good product on the field. DCTF had them as a darkhorse pick in their magazine.

Bellville played great. I was impressed with our freshman DE. He has some growing up to do but kid could be great by the time he is a senior. Probably could earn some D1 offers eventually
