Jasper Bulldogs vs Silsbee Tigers/ CANCELED

Anyway, this game will be interesting.  The game is at home for Silsbee and I pick them to win.   But let’s hope a certain person on Jasper’s sideline don’t get all emotional and sensitive if the players start hitting hard.

Was not a fumble. Calvin slipped making a cut inside the 4 yard line that would have put the game away.

Yeah that was only a 4. Pt game with carthage winning I think 34-30 but silsbee had one last shot to score but failed the next closest game was the year before a 16 pt win by carthage scoring 56 and that years offense was average at best

Yea, that’s right.  I got that confused with another playoff game I saw.  But yea, him slipping really hurt.

That year before, was the last year of the previous coach.  Put it this way.  The current coach is light years better than that old one… of course, my opinion…

But the next two meetings where some of the worst games as far as being competitive last year us winning 49-0 and 2017 with us winning 64- 35 with all 64 of our pts coming in first half

Prolly lol but we won state almost every year we have played yall in.last 13 r so years and those 2 were the least competitive

It’s not “y’all” cuz I’m from their cross town rival. I just think it’s irresponsible to say that Silsbee’s defense is always bad. You should probably start another thread entitled “I don’t know what I’m talking about but here are my thoughts”. 😇

Well maybe good d down there must mean something different  then cause giving up 300+ pts every  season is not it especially with the the teams that are down there in 4a only 2-3 r even above average

I don’t think it’s a matter of their defense can’t stop the run. They were unable to stop the run against vidor because they were exhausted. Their offense was only on the field 11 minutes the entire game. They were out coached. Vidor came back the second half. When you have the lead offense has to control the clock. Those boys had NO time to rest and get back in it. It seems like they couldn’t do much on the run. But Dodd is not their only RB. They never tried to play anyone else. They team is young but they are good. You all will see as the season progresses.

It was not a fumble. With Silsbee up Two minutes left in the game our RB slipped on the three yard line to put the game out of reach. Carthage won the game with a Hail Mary into the back corner of the end zone with 18 seconds left win the game.

Silsbee did upset Carthage before back in 1998. That was a blowout win by Silsbee actually. Silsbee has been beat bad by Carthage in 2017,  2020, 2012, and 2013 I do know. To bad Carthage doesn't play much basketball so Silsbee could return the favor.

Silsbee was down so many players, mostly linemen, that it really didn't matter how long we had the ball on offense. Not only did we get wore down we didn't have the players to give them a break. The offensive lineman would basically turn around and play defense. Should get some relief back this week, but not all.

I definitely agree with this, that team has alot of talent and it showed Friday, I can only see them getting better as the season progresses. Good luck this week Tigers!

Yes I really enjoyed the 98 year when Silsbee beat Carthage that was fun lol

Yes Carthage has beat a lot pretty bad but you never know what can happen in football especially when a team like Silsbee isn’t afraid to play any team these young tigers will make some serious noise before they graduate.
