Hotrodg Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 The following are the playoff scenarios for 23-AA. I will do 24-AA and potential matchups later today.Newton is in and will be district champions regardless of the outcome of any game in week 10.Corrigan-Camden is in with:Win v Shelbyville ORNewton win v San Augustine.Woodville is in with:Win v. Hemphill.Hemphill is in with:Win v. Woodville AND a Newton win v. San Augustine ORWin v. Woodville AND a Shelbyville win v. Corrigan-CamdenSan Augustine is in with:Win v. Newton AND Hemphill win v. WoodvilleORWin v. Newton AND Shelbyville win v. Corrigan-Camden
Hotrodg Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 Note:The above was created on the assumption that 23-AA uses the following tie-breaker rules:2-way tie: Head-to-Head3+-way tie: Point differential for in games with involved teamsI am making an assumption here, but those do seem to be the most common tie-breakers used in UIL districts.
Bobcat55 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 24-2A is easy.Buna and Hardin are in.East Chambers is in with a win against Hardin or a Kountze loss to Deweyville.Kountze is in if they beat Deweyville AND Hardin beats East Chambers.Buna D1East Chambers/HardinHardin/Kountze
Hotrodg Posted November 5, 2007 Author Report Posted November 5, 2007 Awesome. 23-AA is actually not as complex as it looks. The 8 possible week 10 outcomes can produce 5 differnt team combos, but only two are likely. In 3/8 scenarios the participants will be:D1 WoodvilleD2 Newton\Corrigan-CamdenIn 2/8 scenarios the participants are:D1 NewtonD2 Corrigan-Camden\HemphillThe remaining combos (1/8 each) are:Unlikely (requires Newton loss)D1 NewtonD2 Corrigan-Camden\San AugustineHighly Unlikely (requires Newton loss AND CC loss)D1 WoodvilleD2 Newton\San AugustineD1 NewtonD2 San Augustine\Hemphill
newton_eagles Posted November 5, 2007 Report Posted November 5, 2007 We're start to hit on all cylinders so i think we'll do good in either division. I'm just ready for this week to be over so we can spank some of that 24-2A behind.
24 over par Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 makes for a interesting week with that many teams with at least a chance no matter how slim
LionHeart Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 24-2A is looking extremely good right now....i think it's fairly even with both districts.
newton_eagles Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 no doubt 24 aa was very competitive this year. the second and third place teams out of 23 will be greatly challenged by 24's teams however, the top team from 23 rolls on without a doubt
