Historically they have been in district with Chester and Apple Springs many times.....

With other local 11 man teams.

If Sabine Pass were to go the 6 man route, they would be a 1A DI school. Chester and Apple Springs are currently DII. In fact, that is our only UIL 6man district (13 1A-DII) we currently have here locally.

My cousin was a cheerleader there, she quit her senior year because there’s nothing for cheerleaders to do because the football team keeps getting canceled.
They never have a problem fielding a baseball or basketball team there.  Seems like it should be easy to figure out what the problem with the football team is…….

Actually many SP students are from PAISD  and maybe others.

SP sends school buses to the intracoastal canal bridge between PA and SP (which is all actually PA) in the mornings and afternoons. Parents who want their children to go to school in SP (and don’t feel like driving the extra couple of miles) drop their kids off at the buses under the bridge in the mornings and pick them up at the same place in the evening after school.
