Heard the game is officially cancelled and HC moved to October 29th.

Was told High Island has enough kids available to play but is electing not to play, not sure if its storm related??

I heard from somebody that High Island lost some key players to injury and knew they wouldn't be competitive in this game so they decided to cancel and save wear and tear on remaining players. This combined with the uncertainty of the tropical storm at the time probably led to the cancellation. Lots of murmur around the county about Colmesneil Superintendent's strongly worded Facebook post announcing the game cancellation. Many feel it was unprofessional.

If you got enough kids go up and play.  Man we took some butt-whoopins from everyone back in the day.  Losing wasn’t fun, but Friday nights were always the place to be.

Pretty sure the storm hit that area pretty hard, probably not much opportunity to practice aside from yesterday and today. Wouldn't be the first team to cancel due to a tropical storm/hurricane lol

I'm not aware of any forfeit.

None of the other non-district games that were canceled resulted in forfeits. Why should this one?

going by what i was told.....I'm assuming since a forfeit is involved,  it's not covid or storm related like all the rest have been.......
