You’re lucky millennials can’t opt out of social security, otherwise you poor life planning boomers would be SOL

I would have loved to have opted out of SS years ago, your problem ain't nothing new.

I have provided my own social security, any of my money I get back from the fed gov is simply lagniappe

Oh I understand it - a good portion of my 30-40k in annual withholding goes to fund social security for you boomers, while I won’t see a dime of it. Must be nice

1. I’ve got 16 years before I collect.

2. I suspect that less than 1/4 of that withholding actually goes to Social Security.

3. I wasn’t aware your folks would take that much out of your allowance.

My experience has been that those that actually make good money don't usually crow about it.

Is the name calling really necessary?

In this case, yes, in my opinion

They make comments about living at home and getting allowances, yet I’m funding their socialism security programs. Then they play the victim card claiming I’m bragging about my income, when I try my best to not even mention what I do for a living, or how much I make.

First, the “they” you speak of have contributed to social security longer than you, I would think. Secondly, does having differing opinions other than yours qualify someone as a moron?

Agitation is a game, but you’re not good at it yet. Name calling at the right moment can be beneficial, but you’re timing is off.

I just checked my statements, for funsies

Through the first 9 months of the year, I’ve had $9000 withheld for SOCIALISM security and Medicare.

Youre welcome BOOMERS!

So you are telling us that your SSI and Medicare withholding is "30k-40k?

Laughable very laughable, those two taxes together are a meager 7.65% of YOUR deductions, not yours and the matching 7.65% ADDED by your employer.

If you are in that tax bracket, you would not be worrying about SSI and medicare. You would be smart enough to have one or several retirement systems to give a higher return on investment.

Our fact checkers have determined your comment false...

It will not be allowed.  That said, all of you folks who are throwing slightly better veiled insults aren’t doing much better.

Those are MY actual contributions year to date. What you want me to do, upload my paycheck on here for you to verify ? Then get called out for bragging, etc? Lose lose with you guys

And why do you care that I’m not thrilled that I’m paying thousands into social programs that are likely to be bust before I even see a dime of it? You’re starting to sound like a Democrat tbh

edit - me and another user (rip) had this silly debate years ago, at which point I verified my industry/career with bullets (pretty sure it was him or another trustworthy mod) I didn’t post it for the world to see, as some people take the stalking too far. You can ask him if I’m a big fat liar or not 😘

It was me, and yes,  I obtained enough access to determine that IMWT is in fact to some degree "rolling in the dough".  Now as he said, let's all get back on topic, please.

And you can thank the Democrats for that. When Bush first entered office one of his first big goals was to make a percentage of Social Security an actual 401(k) type savings account. The plan was to continue normal Social Security for those already on it but the new people coming in would have a percentage set aside into a traditional account that belonged to the pression. After all it was your money being put into it with matching funds from your employer.

The Democrats convinced everyone that Bush was trying to take money from them. He is going to starve old people.  In fact he would have been giving money because everybody knows that a private type investment account is worth way more than a pennies if you get back on Social Security.

If I had a true 401(k) type account of everything I and my employers put into Social Security in my name since I was 17 years old, almost 50 years ago, how much would I have in my account? I can guarantee it would be several times $2300 a month I draw now.

Ok so we are all on the same page as you have thrown out several numbers. The first that I saw was the 30k-40k you stated was your SSI/Medicare portion, that is when I questioned it. Now after the fact I am seeing your $9K SSI/Medicare contribution, which yes I believe is a true number for your profession what ever that may be.

I don't think your statement "a good portion" is true as SSI/Medicare is 7.65% which would be matched by your employer. Your 30k-40k would be your total withholdings, which once again is probably true, so good for.

The Squad, as they are called, are four Democratic members of Congress, who are of Arab heritage.  These women have forced $1B in funding cuts to Israel’s Iron Dome defense system.  The Iron Dome is strictly a defense system used to stop missiles from striking Israel, that are fired from their Arab neighbors.  Since the squad is Arab, is it coincidence this is happening? God help our nation when we start turning our backs on Israel.

I had to go back to the first post to remember what the topic was, Israel.

Who care what MAGA makes? Maybe we can start new topic about his money.
