It's gotten to the point that I almost always assume that claims of overt racism are fake.  That's sad, because I'm sure that they still exist, but but every time I see that some biracial couple had slurs painted across their garage door I'm like "uh huh.... here we go again."

I was telling my Dad in 2008 about how I was worried that some redneck would try to assassinate Obama.  He doubted it because  "the people who feel strongly enough about race to actually act do something are too old to do anything about it."  I don't think he was wrong.  

That's why the focus has had to move to "systemic" racism which can't be proved.
