I think TC's defense had a lot to do with it.

Yep.

TC’s defensive line control the game, period.

Changing the running back would not have mattered. You still have to have a lane to run through. A different runner might have gotten a few more yards but would  not have been a game changer.

Nederland came into the game probably averaging over 300 yards a game. Their offensive line simply did not match up with Texas City.

After the rain shortened WOS game they are averaging 38 in the 4 game before TC. Even with the defensive shutout by TC, Nederland is still averaging 30 points a game in the last five games.

I’m not sure why some people have a hard time saying  that we just ran into a tougher team on that night and move on.

I never predict high school football games. For all I know a Dayton might win 68-0 but I wouldn’t take much from the Texas City game. In their last five games they’ve given up 10 points on defense.

I think Dayton pulls this one out at home. Broncos will be playing with nothing to lose in hopes of keeping their season alive and Ned will be on the road in what’s basically a must win situation. Dayton is coming off a confidence builder while Ned is coming off a game in which they were shut out offensively.

We can point to the TC defense  it they’ve given up more points to other teams on their schedule and none of them are over .500. I think Dayton scores enough to take advantage of the issues Ned is having on offense and gets their biggest district win since they beat New Caney in ‘15.

  • Bigdog changed the title to Nederland Bulldogs at Dayton Broncos

If Nederland loses to Dayton they have some big problems.  Did not not match up with TC at all.  Long road trip.  Off game.  Who the heck knows.  Good luck Crosby you will need it.  TC is for real.  Monty will be prepared for Dayton.  Big Ned squeeks by.

Nederland played good defense against Austin, Santa Fe, and Texas City.  They did not play good defense against Silsbee or PNG.  Hopefully they will put all things together against Dayton.  If they lose this one, unfortunately they will wind up 6-4 and sitting at the house come playoff time.

Dogs, put it together this week!
