409 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 do they still play playoff games at the dome??
409 Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 that has always been a big part of playoffs in texas.. somewhat of a tradition... that is a shame... why dont they coop??
big_james Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I would rather go to Rice and watch a game than the Dome!
KFDM COOP Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 that has always been a big part of playoffs in texas.. somewhat of a tradition... that is a shame... why dont they coop?? They just didn't keep the place up.
409 Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 rice is a great spot also.. i also wouldnt mind watchin a game at texas stadium
big_james Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 rice is a great spot also.. i also wouldnt mind watchin a game at texas stadiumI watched a game there in 1980 really didn't enjoy it much, it was cold and my team got beat by the MOJO. I thnk TJ would have been State Champs if they would have played at the dome and took the cold weather out of the game.
409 Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 yea im sure the boys from tj werent use to playin in that dallas climate
kicker Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 rice is a great spot also.. i also wouldnt mind watchin a game at texas stadiumThe only game we played at Texas Stadium was a State Championship loss to Ennis. >
PURPLE 4EVER Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 Nothing beat watching PN-G win another playoff game in the dome in front of record crowds. It really was the "big teepee".It is ashame they have let if just fall apart. If I had to pick the best spot know to watch a playoff game it probably would be Rice Stadium, or if you are lucky, Reliant.
PNG1992 Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I would rather go to Rice and watch a game than the Dome!yes thats Nederlands "home away from home" but it still doesnt compare to a double or triple header at the Astrodome....and its not even close.
TITAN POWER Posted November 6, 2007 Report Posted November 6, 2007 I got the chance to play a game in the Dome. Trust me, from the stands point of view it might be great but for those kids out there, concrete+astroturf=pain and injuries. Rice is a much better place to "play".

Rice is a mush better place to "play".everyone that likes the elements and Rice Stadium, Port Neches played a playoff game at Robertson Stadium in Houston a few years back and it also wasnt a bad place to catch a ballgame.
409 Posted November 6, 2007 Author Report Posted November 6, 2007 yea it hard to beat a day at the dome watchin highschool football games.. hopefully some of our area teams get a chance to play at rice.
Guest FPHS 78 Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 dome was good in that ya had 2 or 3 games and no cold or rain, but i didnt think the seating was worth a hoot.like rice stadium
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 somebody needs to hit the lottery and build a Dome stadium between winnie and BMT or between P.A. and MC.
WOS95 Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 the astrodome will always have a special place in most mustang fans hearts, thats where our mustangs won their first state championship.

Yep, and I can only remember losing there three times out of 20-some-odd games. We won five there in 2000, including an awesome semifinal game against Calallen.
