Barbers Hill @ Nederland

If I could pick BH to win on penetrations I would. That being said, give me the Eagles by 1 point. Ned has more experience in recent years than BH does playing these crucial late season games but BH is still the better team on paper.

Paper doesn’t matter right now though. Coach Abseck needs to show his chops in this one because I think coach Barrow will definitely have something for him. Those long rides out to Mid-County are never easy and BH didn’t play well in their first one. Let’s see how they play with even more on the line this week.

Well good news is BH only had 2 personal fouls last game that lead SF to their only TD in 5 games. If it would have been a tight game I would expect more stupid things like that have happened. Not sure why our defense continues to be undisciplined, but if it don’t stop BH will be sitting home with a talented team. No idea what to think of this game, but with Ned at home I’ll take Ned. BH has the #1 offense in the district followed by the #7 defense and has to be the most penalized team in district.

Yeah this game is a must win for both teams. Ned still has Crosby and BH still has TC. No team wants the 4 spot and I think like last year that our top three will advance to round 2. BH has all kinds of weapons on this team, but they have to be discipline.

just don’t know if Big Ned can score enough points. Offense is still making too many penalties and still not very good. They only had a 13-7 halftime lead  The defense is playing well in some games, but not so good in others(PNG and Silsbee) I just don’t know what defense is going to show up, but have played pretty well the last 2 games, so hopefully coming on. They very well could sit at the he house come playoff time if they lose this one

Sure hope they play well

You dislike both teams, so it must be difficult for you.

If you were referring that to me please quote me next time so I know. If you wasn't then my apologies.

As far as disliking either team that's your opinion, no problem with you saying it.

And it wasn't that difficult for me, I picked Ned, I was just asking Reagan a question with a bit of sarcasm.

who the heck knows...

I'm going to take Nederland for only one reason.

Early in year they had several come from behind victories, and BH is ripe for come from behind victories (see PAM, Crosby.)

I genuinely think BH is better team but their discipline and mental game is weak sauce. Nederland has those two levels on lockdown.

I think the Dawgs win 28-12 with a strong second half. I try to stay positive so I'll be general in my comments - after watching the PNG vs BH game, BH's lack of discipline is the basis of my prediction. I would not want my son playing in a program that was run in that manner.

Y'al are not going to hold BH to 12 points. Texas City scored more than that and their offense is very mediocre. BH's game doesn't seem to be able to travel past the Trinity and their coaching seems like it may have gotten worse, all things considered, but they are still clearly the better team talent-wise and I'm betting that will eventually show. Once you get on that personal foul train it's tough to stop it, I've seen it with Crosby, but with everything to play for I think BH scores 38-42 points and does just enough defensively to get the W.

Lol you also said Dayton was the most prolific passing team in district and they would put up 35 on Ned.

    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
    • The baseball coach has a ton of experience at high school and college level and hasn’t done anything for I think around 7 years now,it’s just something that the higher ups live with. And there has been talent come through that he hasn’t done anything with!
    • If I had to point out one team that has impressed me the most; Barbers Hill
