The Bottom of 6A just dropped from 2230 to 2215! More later!

That would mean that both New Caney (2271) and Porter (2215) would be 6A.

Why would Crosby do that ?  They’d probably much rather be in that cupcake district with PAM, Baytown schools, etc..

It's true, our district is horrendous and the only tough game Crosby would have is against PAM but having said that, Crosby would get bounced first round in the playoffs against the current district 10-5AD1

PAM is going to get Angleton in the first round. Last couple times Crosby played Angleton it was 38-15 and 34-0, one of those years they went to the regional final. The way we did Angleton earlier this year in a scrimmage is the main reason I thought Crosby would be as good as we are right now.

Manvel just beat Paetow and is probably the best team is that district. We lost to them by 14 at Iowa Colony this year. We kicked the ball into the back of our own lineman and gave up a cheap TD when we were about to go into the half with a lead, then we miss three WIDE open tds in the passing game. We weren’t playing at near the level we are now. Really doesn’t matter now though with Paetow and Hightower going 6A.

Crosby 1926 no way we go d1.

that's 6 over 2 years ago's number for D1.

Plus I already see eight opt-ups to 5A-D1 which should push it even higher than it would go naturally. Looks like we're in prime stalking position for the next couple of years.

I think thats the initial math number but the number of 5AD1 opt ups will push the number up.

Initially yes there is a lot of opt ups, but from looking and reading the RGV that normally has a lot of Opt Ups are not doing it this year.. they are sticking where they are placed. El Paso has always historically opted up and I’m assuming they are going to again,

I hope these numbers are the direction they go, but it seems too practical to happen. It would be nice for Shepherd, just don't get our hopes up. I still say they cut the bottom number to try and shove a few more teams in the 4A division.

I know it has been stated (but I could not find it) When is UIL going to list the cut off numbers, sometime in Dec.?

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
