Why is Orangefield 4th? Most districts with 3 teams tied go to points for the top seed and then head to head:

OF -         lost by 7 to HF=-7

                 beat Silsbee by 2 = +2

total = -5

Silsbee -   lost by 2 to OF = -2

                  beat HF by 1 = +1

total = -1

HF - beat OF by 7= +7

         lost to Silsbee by 1 = -1

total = +6 2nd place

 

OF wins head up should be 3rd.  

Are the tiebreaker rules different?

District 11-4A DII goes points through out the tiebreaker. That info came from several coaches within the district.

Based off that info wouldn’t it be

2nd HF

3rd Silsbee 

4th Orangefield

Most of the districts where I have coached, Use points only to determine the top seed. After that, they use head to head.

I specifically asked that question and was told points throughout.

almost all districts use point spread in a 3 way or more tie. In a 2 way tie you go head to head

If my math is correct.HF would need to lose by 23 points to HJ to lose 2nd place.That's not going to happen,
