Which teams are coming into the season with the best defenses?

Huffman is always great at making in game adjustments on the defensive end

United has the best defense in the area.

They're what I wish Silsbee could look like this year at that end of the ball. We've been pretty weak at defense in the paint for a while now.

I agree.  Defense is what makes them go.  So much length on this team, especially at the top of the press.  Then at the rim, you’ll more than likely meet Mr. State MVP ready to send that ball in the stands.

I think the simple answer is United… Offense and defense. There isn’t another team in the 409 that’s close this year.

Kountze will get back to their pressure defense this year and be a problem for some teams

I know Kountze has a good young group coming up but are they going to be able to make an impact this year? That’s a big step . I’m gonna have to check em out

My guess is Kountze will be improved from last season. But the big improvement is a season or two away for the lions. Wishing them all the best for sure.

Crosby is the best in our area.  WOS has done well.

come watch and judge for yourself they had a rough few seasons but i think this year they will grab everyone's attention again

Silsbee's defense & offense is predicated on running, pressing and trapping.  They flip turnovers into points. If a team gets thru that they can drive the middle of the paint.  Nothing says I'm a good athlete like being good at football and basketball.  But the big guy for Silsbee doesn't see it that way.  Hopefully I am wrong about that this season.

It's funny to me that despite an obvious, different school from year after year to these discussion threads... nobody ever correlates the connection of a team's CURRENT talent to the best offense/defense/coach/etc..  for said year. The graduation of a single kid usually changes the entire dynamic/strategy depending on how good that kid was.  

It's literally everchanging depending on graduation/transfers. 

Sigh.. but I digress.  Carry on.

of course Silsbee, Crosby, United will have really good defenses, what if those coaches had different type athletes then how good would those defenses be???
