Guest abovetherim Posted November 7, 2007 Report Posted November 7, 2007 LamarCardinals.com had the pleasure of speaking with Nikki "Instant Offense" Williams this past week and got to know the NJCAA Junior College All American from Copiah-Lincoln College at a much higher level. Williams, originally from White Castle, La., can score from any spot on the floor and does it on a consistent basis. Also, Williams plays with intensity on defense and will be a mainstay on the full court pressure for the Lady Cardinals. LC: Being named a Junior College All American is a great honor, what were the biggest factors in being recognized at this high level? NW: Leadership, hard work, sportsmanship, opening up the court to my teammates, competiveness, My intense defense, aggressiveness, giving my all, making sacrifices to become a better person (player) and most of all being coachable. LC: Everyone on the Lady Cardinals team calls you a great teammate, why is this? NW: Because of my leadership, hard work, dedication, trust, and loyalty. I am fun to be around and I'm always smiling. I like helping my team mates improve. LC: If there was a movie created about your life, what would the title be and who would be the leading actress? NW: "You used me". I will play my own part. LC: Who on the Lady Cardinals team makes you laugh the most and why? NW: Agnija Reke. She puts a smile on my face every day! This is my first time being around someone from another country. She is very competitive and very amazing to be around. I love her accent. LC: Your roommate is Nicole Aiken of Jamaica. What have you learned about Jamaican culture during your short time with Nicole? NW: Nicole is AMAZING! The have 14 parishes, their national dish is saltfish. She lives in South Jamaica and the parish is Clarendon. That's the one thing we have in common we are familiar with parishes. The beaches are beautiful and one day I will go and visit. LC: If you could play in any basketball arena in the world, where would it be? NW: The Staple Center, Los Angeles, California. LC: What is something that most people do not realize about you? NW: I'm a student-athlete... I achieve my goals on and off the court. LC: What are your goals after you finish playing basketball? NW: I plan to continue my talents that God has given me and play basketball. LC: What is your game day ritual and do you have any superstitions? NW: Pray and Meditate-concentrate on the game and my role as a player. LC: Your background includes a very strong family life; describe how much they mean to you in 10 words or less! NW: My family means the world to me. They are my #1 fans! http://lamarcardinals.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/110607aaa.html
