whsalum Posted December 16, 2021 Report Posted December 16, 2021 This one is going to get ugly . Matchup nightmare for the BobcatsΒ Quote
Tigers94 Posted December 16, 2021 Report Posted December 16, 2021 OF had a few really good shooters last year. Don't know if any of them are back this year.Β They might can keep it interesting for just a little bit if they get hot from 3 point land. Quote

Jerry West Posted December 16, 2021 Report Posted December 16, 2021 Orangefield is going to be hurt by a weak non-district schedule here.Β I feel because of their non-district schedule they have not seen anyone close to Silsbee and this is why I have Silsbee by 25+ unless OF sits on the ball.Β Don't think they have the guard play to sit on it for 32 minutes with the amount of pressure Silsbee is going to bring.Β Β KF89 1 Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted December 16, 2021 Report Posted December 16, 2021 Last year Silsbee beat Orangefield by 22 at Orangefield and 14 points at Silsbee. I see an 18-22 point win for Silsbee. Quote

Who That Posted December 16, 2021 Author Report Posted December 16, 2021 Silsbee wins this game big.! I" personally see Silsbee putting up triple digits. This game won't be close.πππ π Quote
catfever Posted December 16, 2021 Report Posted December 16, 2021 Keys to OF even having any sort of shot at keeping it close are controlling the tempo, shooting the ball well, not giving up a lot of offensive boards, and limiting turnovers as much as possible.Β Turnovers are going to happen, but they can't lead to fast break points.Β Silsbee comes in waves and you have to be able to withstand the waves.Β That is easier said that done though.Β Β KF89 1 Quote

On their worst day Orangefield should be 20 points better than Liberty. All that said my observation is strictly based on matchups. Silsbeeβs pressure defense is going to be a problem. If the Bobcats can break the press and hit the 3 then they could keep it under 20. Thatβs a tall order.Β Quote
The Observer Posted December 17, 2021 Report Posted December 17, 2021 Silsbee press will get them up early and fast - up by 20 Silsbee will fall back OF hit a few 3s so half time Silsbee by 14 Silsbee come back out with press and finish off OF. by 32 staying under 3 digits finalΒ Quote
Cardinal 1 Posted December 17, 2021 Report Posted December 17, 2021 OF will attempt to slow the ball down as much as possible. They aren't bad against the press and can hit from outside. Silsbee by 15 BADSANTA 1 Quote
BADSANTA Posted December 17, 2021 Report Posted December 17, 2021 There isn't a team on OF schedule who could play within 20 of Silsbee and their 12-5.Β Quote
TxHoops Posted December 17, 2021 Report Posted December 17, 2021 Silsbee will win. Β I have no clue by how much. Β Except that I learned long ago to defer to AAW on HS lines. Β So my guess is around 20.Β Quote

scoopno1 Posted December 18, 2021 Report Posted December 18, 2021 I have seen about half the schools in this district play. Silsbee is head and shoulders better than the rest. They could get better if they could get one of their big people healthy but that might not be this year. I really think Orangefield has a lot of skills. They are short on depth and speed which kills them against someone like Silsbee. Lumberton needs their big guy who hurt his shoulder. They are athletic but may not have the shooting skills of Orangefield. I have seen WOS but not seen them play. They appear to be missing some players from last year. Maybe they are just slow getting out from football. I haven't seen Vidor or LCM at all.Β i did watch BC a little earlier. It should be an interesting battle for second third and fourth for playoff positions. Quote
