Jasper Bulldogs

Rushing Yards, Season:
2,092 - Karrion Morrisey, 2011
1,788 - Jason McQueen, 2001
1,756 - Terrence Cuney, 2013
1,678 - Quinten Williams, 2014

Montavien Hunt might have broken the record if he hadn't gotten hurt in 2018. He was so good that season...

I apologize fellow DAWGS fans, and to whoever else took note of this list I posted.  Rather than take my time and make sure I posted correctly, I used the historical section at smoaky as a quick reference. (figures uh?).

Below you will see a  "mo'  better" list.  It's only the top 5 but if you guys are interested I do have quite a few more.

Jasper Bulldogs

(2011)Karrion Morrisey  2092    235-22

(1994)Terrance Currington  2068    Xxx-28                                                   *worth noting that Jonathan Limbrick had 1273yds Xxx-10 in 1994 also.  the DAWGS were ground and pounding that year for sure!

(2001)Jason McQueen     1788    270-21

(2020)Carl Limbrick     1778   186-23

(1995)Sheldon Grant   1760  Xxx-xx

I gotta say, while compiling this list I was truly shocked Chris Hunt was not even in top 10.  His physical presence alone (a man among boys if you will) was something else.  Then mix in his natural skill set!  WOW! That said in 1986 (his Jr season) he had 1237 yards. I would wagered alot thinking he had more. I couldn't find anything on his Senior season, but if I remember correctly his ego and/ or grades took him out for the '87 season.

I wonder what Reggie Davis did in '84. It seemed like he was breaking off huge runs like Chris was in '86.

to be completely honest I specifically searched for him because without a doubt when most folks think of 80s Jasper football he for good reason comes to mind. I am yet to find anything on him. So please anyone that has info. please share.

you spoke of Montavien in 2018.

as we know his ankle was injured in last game of regular season against Center. We played in 3 playoffs games without him. He had 1523 yards in 9 and half games(he didn’t play second half against Center).

1523 was done on only 116 carries 19 tds.  Very little if any that season did he play past a possession or two into the 3rd quarter (cause we usually were ahead and some young  backs Coach got them playing time).

So yes sir had he played entire games then the 3 playoffs it would have interesting to see his totals.

He got pulled late in a lot of the games he played in because we were crushing just about everyone. He may not have had the most yards, but he might have been the biggest gamebreaker.

I remember watching Sauceda at Bobcat games with my older cousins that went to Orangefield…that guy was slippery as hell.

Wouldn't Sauceda be 2003 football season ? Did he graduate in 03 or 04 ?
