How Far Left Have the Dems Gone

The answer is probably different depending on who you ask.  The real answer needs to be based on pertinent information.  For me it’s as simple as this - When a man who I considered a flaming liberal, Bill Maher, sounds like a conservative talking negatively about the Democrat Party, they’ve gone w a y to far left.  Imo, the Dems are off the Right/Left scale.  Left has historically identified liberals.  What the Dems are today is simply Socialist/Communist.  To them a liberal is a conservative.

Remember 20 years ago Bernie Sanders was considered a far left loon even by democrats.  Now he's the poster boy for them.

No doubt.  Probably fill up this Forum.

So far left that if the earth was flat, they’d be off the edge.

kind of a loaded question.  there are a lot of moderate democrats still out there, and the ultra left faction in the democratic party is causing a rift that is going to lead to the right taking back control this midterm.  the problem we're running into is that the youngest generations of liberals are generally going the farthest left, meaning they've still got 50+ years to vote (and 20+ years to birth new ultra-liberals).

By then the Gulags will be in operation - unless the old saying, “You’re a liberal in your 20’s or you don’t have a heart, and a conservative in your 30’s or you don’t have a brain” holds true.  We can only hope.

Democrats want to federalize elections so they can secure the right to cheat, not the right to vote.

That’s my opinion also.  Only 10 years ago I’d thought this opinion lunacy. Today, and after listening to Biden’s speech yesterday, there’s no doubt in my mind.  Ironic that to enter the Dem Nat Convention, you’re required to show ID, but they want to say you’re for voter suppression to require an ID to vote.  Their resistance to Voter ID has, to my knowledge, only one purpose, as you said, to secure the right to cheat.
I’ve ask before with no response, but if any of you can think of another reason to not require ID, please post it.

I would actually venture to guess that the majority of democratic voters are what we would call moderate or not extreme left.

The problem is that they are so eaten up with party affiliation, just like pulling for your favorite football team, but they are blinded to what is happening.

There was a time going back to the Great Depression that  the Democrats claimed to be the party of the “working man”. They were for unionization and the Republicans were for a big business and not having forced unions. My best friend growing up and his family were absolutely Democrats and I heard his father say how could a working man ever vote for a Republican.

I think that much of that thought continues through this day even with evidence to the contrary. I think the problem is not what the average working democrat believes but what he is told is the truth. Like in the Wizard of Oz, ignore the man behind the curtain….

    • Uh oh MAGAS, any issues with this? Scott Bessent Seems to be textbook deep state with the soros affiliation.    Bond markets, and my investment accounts,  are liking the pick so far with rates down as investors breathe a sigh of relief. Reportedly he will take a softer approach to tariffs, which are inflationary and pass throughs to consumers, as all 1.5 of us on SETX know
