KFDM COOP Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASENovember 9, 2007Lamar State Seahawks host Angelina College on SaturdayThe Lamar State College-Port Arthur men's basketball team takes onanother Division I school this Saturday, when the Angelina CollegeRoadrunners come to town for a 7 p.m. game in the Carl Parker Center.The Division III Seahawks are 2-2 after Thursday's 82-88 home lossto the undefeated Temple College Leopards, the 2007 NTJCAC co-champions, whohad been scoring over 100 points in their first three games.Lamar State, down by 11 at half-time, came back to tie the game withtwo minutes remaining. But the Seahawks missed some shots and allowed somekey offensive rebounds that let the Roadrunners escape with a win."It was a tough loss, but I'm proud of the team," said Lamar Statehead coach Don Bryson. "We worked hard, but came up a little short."Three Seahawks scored in double digits. Sophomore guard Noah Colefrom Vidor and freshman forward Seth Harley each put up 24 points. Harley,an Little Cypress-Mauriceville graduate, also had 11 rebounds and had hisfourth double figure scoring game along with freshman forward GeorgeWilliamson from Vidor, who had 13 points.Freshman forward Sam Stelly, a 2006 West Brook High School graduate,added eight points for Lamar State.Harley is scoring 17.8 points per game, while Cole has 17 ppg.Angelina is 0-3 with losses to Temple, Hill College and McClennanCollege.The Seahawks face two Division I teams on the road this coming week- at Panola College in Carthage on Monday and at San Jacinto College inPasadena on Wednesday.Lamar State returns to the Carl Parker Center for Homecoming Nighton Saturday, Nov. 17, for a rematch with Lee College, which beat theSeahawks 95-74 on Nov. 3.
