22-3A standings

Recommended Posts

In the years being discussed, were Buna's most talented years since Coach Whitmire has been at Buna. They had alot more talent than "an O-Lineman" and a Connel kid. Kreston Richardson went on to play at UT-Tyler? Or something of that sort. Edwards was a very talented basketball player, along with Connell and Richardson and some good role players. Did Kountze have the better athletes, absolutely. But Buna was far from lacking in talent. I won't comment on who is the better Coach of the two.

Back to the standings, Kountze should have at least a share of the lead as of tonight. This district is so tough and each game can swing the standings. I love it! Keep rolling Lions!!

One Connell, the oldest, was on that team with the Edwards.  And he was the reverse of a reclass kid…he was a full year ahead in school.  They were a nice team.  But Kountze had the three best players on the floor.

The middle Connell brother would have been a freshman when Arnold or Stanford was a senior.

The oldest CoNNell (Remi) was the youngest kid in his senior class. Split the MVP w TJ his Senior season.  The middle CoNNell was MVP his junior and senior season. Remi played basketball at the next level. Alex played football at the next level.

Yeah Remi was the reverse of all the kids who start late and are a year behind - he’s was a full year younger than his class.  Alex was ended up being a heck of a player and was, as you know, a really good shooter even as a freshman.  He was just a long way from what he ended up being, especially his last two years (as almost all freshman are.  I know he chose to play football and he was an incredible player on the gridiron.  And to the others, never said Buna didn’t have a some players over the years.  They’ve never had a trio of players together like Harper, Arnold and Stanford.  The fact that they went to toe to toe and won just as often is a credit to the Cougars and their coach.

Now they gotta put that loss tonight behind them and continue to improve.  The Buna-Kountze matchup has produced some gems over the years.

I could see 22-3A going 3-1

i don’t know much about district 23.

I haven’t seen woodville play but I believe the coach is only in his 2nd year.

@AggiesAreWecould shed more light on district 23

New Waverly is solid but not very deep. Only suits out 8.

Tarkington has had some good wins but some bad losses. That Hardin loss is a head scratch er.

Coldspring is not what they have been the last 3 years but still can give a team fits on a given night.

Trinity has been a bit of a surprise. Their losses have been expected but were in all of those games till late.

I see 22-3A going 3-1 as is right now. But 22-3A still is very fluid.

Big game tonight with Kountze hosting Anahuac

Kountze win knocks Anahuac out the playoffs race and locks up the 4 spots

Anahuac win keeps them alive and in the hunt

As far as seeding goes. Newton could mess up woodville s seed.  Woodville is at Newton tonight.   last time woodville won by 10

Good one to watch Newton is capable of beating anyone at home

which is really strange to me.  how can a team be so bad on the road and then able to knock of anybody in the district at home?  head scratcher
