This is one of many things

Warren Coach calls for timeout while Kirbyville is on a fast break. Ref actually blew the whistle…..stopped the fastbreak. Then ref realized what he did…..turned to kville coach and said “that’s my fault coach”

ref made a terrible decision 

and a coach knows better then to try and pull a fast one like that.

to me a coach calling for a timeout when his team doesn’t have possession should be a tech.

Sounds like maybe they both need to review the rules.
