Silsbee high school Basketball

How come Silsbee never host any playoff Basketball or even Football I’m sure it would be fun for us locals to watch other teams play in our Stadium like they did not too long ago just curious.

Silsbee doesn’t have turf which games are usually played on during the playoffs.

Also they probably don’t host basketball playoffs due to both their basketball programs usually playing in the first couple rounds and not having people there to run everything

All the above. No turf, no playoff games. Both teams in playoffs, no people available to work. 

I've been told Silsbee will be installing turf next year. Basically a done deal. I see playoff games happening then.

As for hosting basketball playoffs, a couple of teams wanted to play at Silsbee this past Monday and Tuesday but Silsbee said no.

Not this time around but a new game day field house will be constructed on the west end of stadium up on the hill.

Not sports related. But is there any talk about building a new Jr high? From my understanding that’s the old highschool? All the other schools are fairly new I would think that one would be the next one one to go.

No talk just yet but it is the oldest currently.

I graduated in 1998 and that was the high school. Good ol days!! The new school which is the current high school was being developed. They had just started to move trees and lay pavement. I think the 1st year was 2000.

Yes turf I’m Super excited about that it’s going to look beautiful inside that Stadium will it come with a new video board as well the kids really deserve it and so does the city of Silsbee no more Mud Bowls lol.

The old high school which is the current jr high school, that is where I went to HS. I've never been to the newest high school.  The Jr high school was further North.  Next to it  is the football field I saw home games at.  I'm guessing that Jr high school has been torn down.   I hear they still play basketball in that old gym.   Next time I am in Silsbee I will try to drive around over there and see for myself.

Silsbee been saying they are getting turf since after the  2018 season…. We will see if it happens.

If Mr Aggies says it then it’s a done deal plus one of the coaches told me the same thing after the Silsbee and WO-S District game.

Yep they where getting the new gym floor put in. And the big screen on a wall. And now the football field is getting a new look. Going to be nice looking.😁
