I want to know what ya'll think about all-district picks.Should a player be named to the all-dist. team just because they are committed to play college football already.I think a kid from Ozen was all-dist. as well as all-state and didn't even play 3 games one year.

Personally I think it should be based on the season at hand not reputation...

I agree BIG HOUSE!! There are those players that have busted their tales and prepared themselves physically (which in alot of cases will eliminate injury) to play ball. The All District team should be selected on what they accomplished that year. Alot of kids are passed over by colleges all the time. Prime example was Michah Mosely from Nederland last year. It wasn't until Todd Dodge took over the program that he got what he deserved. The last time I checked he was their leading rusher.

It's so subjective, but my input would be:

Dayton QB Charles should be the all-district QB. Though Bellow had more yardage and one more TD, Charles did it in just six games. Conceivably, Dayton would have been undefeated with Charles in at QB - at least in district. He also had only ONE INTERCEPTION AND 18 TDS, as compared to 9 picks and 19 TDs by Bellow. Those are really the only two legit QB candidates.

Hussey should get a first-team RB spot as he led the district in rushing.

Cardenas, Dugat and Powell are the odds-on favorites for WR, as no one else really came close.

I expect a ton of Dayton defenders on the list, as they had by far the most dominating defense in the district - posting FOUR shutouts in their last six games and only allowing an average of 4 points per game in district.

True, but nobody in this district came anywhere close to doing what Mosely did last year. He had double the yards that any current rusher had and almost double the touchdowns. There is usually one such player in our area every two or three years (Mosely, Beasley, Charles)
