Sound Transit did away with fare enforcement officers after a study revealed people of color were disproportionately getting fined. Instead, the system now relies on fare ambassadors. There are only a handful for the whole light rail system, so riders will rarely encounter them. They currently engage only 2% of all riders.

Sounds like the fare ambassadors are working out as well as the violence interrupters...smh.

Here’s another of the endless examples where “unbelievable” just doesn’t seem descriptive enough.  We used it into the ground, and when you think you won’t need it for a good while, BAM, you read something like this.  My question is - were more blacks getting Fined because they targeted black abusers and not the whites - or were blacks just abusing the system more than others?  If the former, Fire & charge those doing it - if it’s the later, just keep fining them.  It’s not rocket science.  Well………maybe it is to Liberals.
