What Good is the UN

I need some help from y’all.  To put it in my daughters words, I’m a walking encyclopedia of useless knowledge.  Certainly don’t know everything but know a little about a lot of things.  This brings me to the UN.  Russia is trying to takeover the Ukraine.  Where is the UN?  Why doesn’t the UN send troops, or at least condemn Russia to high heaven?  Is it as useless as I think it is?  Is it just a money pit?  Please dear reader, simply tell me what good is the UN?

I HAVE WONDERED THIS FOR SO LONG - The only thing I can truly find "good" is humanitarian aid they provide.  

 

In a weird way, it reminds me of the "Senate" in Star Wars.  No real power.

Useless, and dangerous.  How can you trust an organization that would put Iran on the  Women’s Rights Commission?  And that’s just one of many ludicrous examples.

Good at taking the U. S.’s money.  Something else Trump was right about.  We give way more money to the UN than any other country.

Spot on. As long as you point to an organization or movement funded by politicians, you will be disappointed.
