Actually, Cherokee was played over and over again...and, most of the time, the fans were on their feet!  It was no competition...PNG fans clearly outdid the Dayton fans.  Dayton  was the better team and won the game hands down.  I can't believe someone from Dayton would slight the PNG fans like this.  Just goes to show.  However, when my wife and I arrived at the game, we were parked behind the Dayton side. When we went to go in the gates, the Dayton gatekeepers refused to take our tickets...said we weren't allowed to go thru on that side or park our car behind the home stadium. One of the Dayton posters, actually told me to park here by the junior high school, would be easier to exit.  About that time, one of the assistant coaches from Dayton walked up, heard the conversation and told the gate keeper that she was the rudest person he had ever seen and was ashamed she was from Dayton. He then, personally, escorted my wife and I thru the Dayton side, around the track to the visitors side.  A guy with a lot of class.  He was very apologetic the whole way and told us he was embarrassed.  We told him it was ok, just everyone caught up in the moment. He said he had a lot of respect for PNG and their fans....which, he said, just kept coming and coming! LOL ! I've actually made friends with some Dayton posters, and I know they all don't disrespect PNG or PNG fans this way.  Good Luck, Broncos, in the playoffs!!!

So you are just now figuring this out about some Dayton fans...they've been acting this way all season...but I guess you don't see it until it's against your team.

Not all are like this...just a couple. Most are good sports. Each team has their few who make it hard for others.

Good luck to all teams in the playoffs!!

Every team has some bad sports I remember a few years back the old man dressed like an indian and a couple of his old buddies cut the lock off a gate to get in at LCM.

I'll be the first one to say that MOST Dayton fans were not like this or feel this way. Actually, I wish it had been a teenager, but unfortunately, it was a lady probably in her 40's.  It's ok, was just shocked about the video that was posted so I had to vent....please accept my apologies...and again, I know that Dayton fans are not like this, and ALL schools have these selected few.  Go Bronco's, good luck in the playoffs!

Come on, folks! All of this "disrespectful"  stuff is starting to get a little old.  Somebody was just having fun!  Get over it!

Agree, not really a big deal. :-\

What an "ass" this "person" is who posted this video on YouTube....  ???

Everyone KNOWS that Dayton fans aren't ALL like this fool.  BEST of luck to Dayton & all the SETX teams in the playoffs!!!

Since we're on this subject, last year I was personally at the basketball game at PNG when they played Dayton. The entire Dayton team walked onto the center court and stood on the mid court Indian head in a huddle and started swaying back in forth humming the war chant and cherokee.  The Dayton coach sat down and watched them do it and didn't intervene. I know it was last year and a different sport, but this was my first time to see any of the Dayton sports teams. Of course I'm bias because I'm a PNG fan, but there seems to be a pattern. I thought it was a very, very classless act. Anyways, good luck to all teams in the playoffs including Dayton.  I hope they do stay in the district since they've whipped us for two years, I would like to beat them before they leave.

To be fair to the ticket taker, she was probably told not to let y'all through. Many schools don't want the fans from each side mingling for their own safety. There should have been signs though, showing where to park. Good luck Indians!

What I'm about to say is not intended to to take a shot at Nederland or their fans as I thought they were very classy & respectful throughout the game at Lumberton Fri. night, but this story did remind me of a similar incident last year in Nederland involving my Dad and Stepmother. My father and step mother had parked closer to the Nederland side entrance ticket gates for some reason and had tried to enter that gate since it was closer when they were also rudly not allowed to enter and buy tickets there because they were from Lumberton. The exact thing happened just like the PNG/Dayton game and they were told that they would have to walk all of the way around to the visitors side to get in. To me, that just seems very rude and ridiculous. I'm not saying all people from Nederland are like this, but there are some obviously.
