Well on the positive side this is Lamar’s best record with Davis. Either finish 32-23 or 33-22. Conference either 16-14 or 17-13. 
Now for the negative with Davis at the helm. They simply do not play well vs UTRGV and ACU. They will most likely be in 4th in their division after the ACU series. They are 2-7 in conference series final games this season. They have never won a conference championship under Davis(nor will they), and they are simply bad in conference tournament games, usually 2 and done. 
To consider a season to be a success in D1, you have to win your conference or the tournament and make it to a regional

This is not going to happen as long as Davis is there
