The best team always wins.  No matter how you twist and turn it.  They are better on that particular night.

no for , in my opinion, 2 reasons

1. who had the ball last

2. the better team beat themselves (penealties, mistakes)

On that particular night the best team did win, but there is always the potential for the upset.

The best overall team may not play their best resulting in losing the game.

the only time you can really say the best team won is if you play a series like in the NBA or MLB because a team can just have an off night and get upset

the best team always wins most of the time .  but no, the best team does not always win, although the team that plays the best usually does. 

this is kind of a tough issue to tackle.  for instance, take when the cowboys played the bills awhile back.  the cowboys are clearly the best team, but the bills were the best team that night, yet the cowboys still won.  the best overall team won the game, but the best overall team for that night lost.  anything can happen.  just ask the michigan football team.

Of course not...  If the better team always wins the game then why play to begin with?  There would be no such things as upsets.

I think the best team can win, only, as someone posted earlier, if it is in a series of games, i.e. basketball playoffs, etc.  Anything can happen on any given Friday night in high school football.  I know we base a lot on stats and such, but again, what's happening out on the field during the game is what matters....forget the past or future...its the present.
