Hagar Posted May 30, 2022 Report Posted May 30, 2022 Yes thanks to the many men and women who died while serving their country. Whether they were an Audie Murphy type Infantryman attacking the enemy or a Company Clerk who had a heart attack. Each of them were a necessary cog in the giant machine known as the American Military. So take a moment today to raise a toast and a prayer for these brave men and women, and thanks to God for giving them to us. Here’s a common toast to them by fellow soldiers. To absent companions! Chester86 Posted May 30, 2022 Report Posted May 30, 2022 Nothing like being 18 and told “Write your will - many of you won’t be coming back.” By the grace of God many make it home - but this day is for those that didn’t. They knew the possibility was there. They knew the costs could be high. Many had already seen friends pass on - yet they pushed forward. May God hold them close and let us thank them and their families that gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. FREEDOM is worth the cost. May God bless you and your families today and hopefully you will take a quick moment to think of the sacrifices that were made for you. God bless America. I pray that despite everything we can somehow become United again as a country. Unwoke and Hagar 2 Quote
Hagar Posted May 30, 2022 Author Report Posted May 30, 2022 Saw this and it’s appropriate here. It’s the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It’s the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It’s the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It’s the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. Those are powerful words that tells volumes about those who have served and those now serving. God Bless our men and women in uniform. LumRaiderFan, Chester86 and Ty Cobb 3 Quote
