Earl the Pearl played positions 1-5 for PA Lincoln in the mid-70s.  He beat Moses Malone to win a one-on-one competition at the Seamco Classic, an All-American tournament.  He could drop 50 with his off hand.  I was told he fizzled after high school because of drugs, which would make him one of the all-time wastes of talent.  In HS, though, he was amazing.

David  ( the future Skywalker) Thompson from Chase High School in Shelby, North Carolina in 1971 .  Playoffs against A.L. Brown High from Kannapolis., the home of Dale Earnhardt.  Thompson  had it all.  Soft jumper , ball handling , and of course the skying.  And I still believe the best the ACC ever had . Yes, better than that Carolina guy, on the shoes .

Who is the best, strictly at the HS level player you have ever seen?

Food for thought, please share your personal opinions.

What da-aaaa!!!!  Elmer Bennett from Bellaire!!! That was 1988? Oh yeah it was because I seem to remember the kid from this area (Sweet) was on the team too. Man that dude (Bennett) was so smooth and very legit and Norte Dame bound.  But Eddie Owens from Wheatley 1973 OR 74 (UNLV) was very legit, but maybe too young for yall to know.

Stanley Bonewitz was amazing  in the state tournament his senior year. The only reason he didn't break the state tournament record was because his dad took him out of the game before he broke the record. Also i think in both games he had 10+ assists he was awesome
