2023 Season?

Can Deer Park take back the 6A title? Will Barbers Hill ride their Ace (soon to be Soph) pitcher to the finals? Will Liberty win another championship? Or can Bridge City pick off Liberty after coming so very close? Anyone in 3A and below poised for a run?

Deer Park has a solid group of hitters returning from this years 40-5 state tourney team. If they find some quality pitching they have a legit chance to win state next year.

B.H. with a strong pitcher returning, just need to fill in a solid defense around her with some productive hitters, not sure what B.H. has returning.

 

Until someone does pick off Liberty, it is hard to pick against them after winning 3 state titles in 4 years. Depending on what B.C. has returning they may get it done. Looks like Liberty has 7 starters or key contributors returning for next season & 4 other returners.

BH needs to rediscover their bats, and find a solid #2 pitcher. I do not follow the JV much but at a glance they have some tall, athletic girls coming up. I am not sure that necessarily translates into "softball skills" but the JV team is as tall as the Varsity. They pass the eye test. Good thing is State appears to be wide open with Aledo and Lake Creek graduating a lot of Seniors. Look for BH to improve next season, and be really good in 24.

I would consider Lake Creek the favorite to return to the state title game they only lost 3 seniors & return 7 key starters including both pitchers
