BattlinBear02 Posted July 23, 2022 Report Posted July 23, 2022 Lumberton will be tough for sure, but the team LCM does not match up well against is vidor...in previous yrs, the defense has not been disciplined enough to slow down that slot t.... hopefully this year is different! piratevillain 1 Quote

Hagar Posted August 6, 2022 Author Report Posted August 6, 2022 I repeat, this District will be very tough this year, and any of 4 teams could win District, but here’s the deal: Vidor won the District last year. Has a good nucleus of returning starters, and I’m pretty sure the JV went undefeated. How anyone could leave them out of the discussion for repeating is beyond me. And since the District will send 4 quality teams to the playoffs, perhaps the District of Doom (9-4A-D1) won’t have the cakewalk they’ve had in many year past. Anyone following 10-4A-D1 this year, cinch up your belts and hand your false teeth to someone, dad gum it’s going to be a bull ride. 😂 BattlinBear02 1 Quote
KF89 Posted August 6, 2022 Report Posted August 6, 2022 Vidor Vidor had a strong regular season, but drew a tough 1st rd. matchup and had its postseason end early. The Pirates once again will challenge for the district title as their Slot-T offense has plenty of options in the backfield with RBs Watson, Gall (879 yards, 6 TDs rushing) and talented sophomore Fontenot. Watson (82 tackles, 8 sacks) will lead the defense along with LB Odom (117 tackles), who is a returning first-team all-district selection. 2021 Results- Overall- 8-2, Bi-District Finalist / 4-1 District Lettermen- R/L- 22/17 Starters Returning Offense- 6 Defense- 6 Impact Players RB/DE- Jason Watson 6-1, 220- 4.7- 40yd speed LB- Tate Ardis (6-2, 200, 4.8- 40yd speed LB- Jared Odom 6-1, 205, 4.7- 40yd speed RB- Ricky Gall 6-2, 200, 4.7- 40yd speed OL- Jesse Myers 5-10, 200 4.8- 40yd speed OL- Landon Wilcoxson 6-1, 260 CB- Bryce Dubose 6-0, 170, 4.8- 40yd speed CB- Dane Villadson 6-0, 180, 4.6- 40yd speed Top Prospects RB- Isaac Fontenot, DB- Lance Beavers, OL- Brooklyn Freeman, OL- Payton Raegen, TE- Brayden Root, QB/DB- Westin Baker, TE- A.J. KF89 Posted August 6, 2022 Report Posted August 6, 2022 Little Cypress-Mauriceville The Bears were one of the state’s surprise stories in 2022, advancing to the regional finals under first-year head coach Eric Peevey. The question now is what will the Bears do for an encore? RB/CB Morris (1,811 yards, 22 TDs rushing; 36-434, 2 TDs receiving; 38 tackles, 6 INTs) is one of the top players in Southeast Texas and is the catalyst for the Bears. DE Washington (64 tackles, 21 TFL, 9 sacks) is a monster on the defensive line who holds multiple FBS offers, while DE Riley (64 tackles, 8 TFL, 4 sacks) is expecting a breakout season on the other side. 2021 Results- Overall- 11-3, Regional Finalist / 4-1 District Record Lettermen-R/L- 15/25 Starters Returning- Offense- 5 Defense- 5 Impact Players RB/CB- Da’Marion Morris 5-10, 180, 4.5- 40yd speed DE- Amier Washington 6-3, 265, 4.6- 40yd speed QB- Dean Reynolds 6-1, 205, 4.7- 40yd speed DE Jarvis Riley 6-3, 220, 4.7- 40yd speed OL- Jan Nazario 6-0, 230, 4.9- 40yd speed OL- Brady Wright 6-4, 290 RB/LB- Luke McDow 5-11, 215, 4.7- 40yd speed QB/LB- William Payne 6-1, 185, 4.8- 40yd speed Top prospects OL-Carson Phelps (6-3, 265),TE/DL-Jordan Pollock, WR/DB-Jacob Pollock, DL-Gianni Huffman, WR/CB- Darius Roberts Quote
KF89 Posted August 6, 2022 Report Posted August 6, 2022 Lumberton The Raiders are poised for a leap forward in 2022 with 15 starters returning from a playoff squad. The offense has plenty of firepower with the return of QB Powell (2,552 yards, 25 TDs passing; 10 TDs rushing), WR Fuselier (19-434, 7 TDs receiving) and RB Jaddon Ward (981 yards, 12 TDs rushing). The defense doesn’t lack playmakers with the return of LB Morgan (82 tackles, 2 sacks) and DE Jackson (74 tackles, 16 TFL, 4 sacks). 2021 Results- 6-5 Bi-District Finalist / 3-2 District Record Lettermen R/L- 26/22 Starters Returning- Offense- 8 Defense- 7 Impact Players QB- Lucas Powell 5-10, 175, 4.6- 40yd speed RB- Jaddon Ward 5-8, 210, 4.8- 40yd speed LB- Jared Morgan 6-0, 185, 4.8- 40yd speed OL- Gabe Hernandez 6-3, 265- 40yd speed DE Brock Jackson 6-4, 225, 4.6- 40yd speed WR- Brady Fuselier 6-3, 180, 4.6- 40yd speed DB- Carson Rea 5-11, 175, 4.6- 40yd speed WR Trey Kersh 5-8, 165, 4.6- 40yd speed DL- Grayden Spencer 6-3, 255, 4.9- 40yd speed Top Prospects WR Kaleb Koch, DB Broc Bonner, OL Johnathan Lamberth, OL Nick Woodland. KF89 Posted August 6, 2022 Report Posted August 6, 2022 Huffman After two very strong seasons, Huffman has a lot of holes to fill with just three starters back on each side of the ball. New head coach Joey Buchta has WR/CB Tyler Wilkins (39-603, 10 TDs receiving; 32 tackles, 8 INTs) coming back & is a force on both sides of the ball, also was an all-state selection on defense. The Falcons will have one of the best kickers in 4A with the return of Jonathan Klepetko, who could be a weapon in close games. The big question mark for Huffman will be settling on a QB, where Tyson Woodland and Justin Evans will compete for the job. 2021 Results- 8-3 Bi-District finalist / 3-2 District Record Lettermen R/L- 17/27 Starters Returning- Offense- 3 Defense- 3 Impact Players WR/CB- Tyler Wilkins- 6-0, 175, 4.5-40yd. speed RB/LB- Dylan McMullen- 5-11, 190, 4.6-40yd. speed K/P- Jonathan Klepetko- 6-0, 175, 4.6-40yd. speed TE/DL Will Swartz- 6-5, 225, 4.6-40yd. speed OL/DL Hayden Hovan- 6-0, 255 Key Juniors\Sophmores JR.-OL Noah Silman- 6-7, 235 JR- RB/LB Jesse Holcomb- 5-10, 185, 4.6-40yd speed SO- WR/DB Kurtis Felder- 6-3, 180, 4.6-40yd speed Quote

And no surprise, three teams from 9-4A-1. Be a couple of good teams knocked out in Bi-District. Really proud of this District. It’s gone from relative obscurity to a potential powerhouse.
