Week 2 could be DOOMS day for this area

I hope I'm wrong on this guys and I know you have to take one game at a time, but we are fans.  I was looking at the brackets for all classifications.  I might be wrong on a couple of games, but it's possible that all of the area teams will be done after week 2.

5A-WB would get FB Clements

4A- Dayton, Lumberton, PNG get the powerful teams from LM, Dickinson, Texas City

3A- WOS gets Giddings again

2A-EC gets Mart

These are just a few and I may have overlooked a couple of teams. I'm just throwing it out there for discussion. It appears to be very tough road for all, but hopefully somebody will make a deep run.  What's ya'lls comments?

we need to just take it one week at a time.

We would more likely than not have Texas City in the second round. This year, they have been amazing, beating La Marque and almost everyone else they've come up against. If Dayton can play defense like they know they can, we can stop Texas City. Do they still have the size that they had last year?

I understand one week at a time, and that's for the players and coaches.  The fans can look ahead and play the what if game. It was only for discussion.

I hear ya scalp'em.Over on the downlow they have several threads on teams talking about thier chances of being state champs. One is asking who will win state for each classification.Interesting thing is WO-S is in the finals by most and Giddings is not mentioned at all.Now that's looking a little too far ahead for me.

dayton will steam roll texas city. they have been winning in the last seconds in games by 1-2 points and beat lamarque in ot. they run first and pass later...much later. this won't be a problem for dayton. lamarque defense now takes over the season and will bail the offense out, despite poor coaching. can't play 2a ball in 4a.

    • Are you really gonna talk about decorum from a President while supporting the guy who effectively has no such decorum? Just last night the former president (and would-be despot) was in Arizona talking with Tucker Carlson and fantasized about Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad… after calling her dumb, of course.     Trump didn’t just “defecate all over the office of the President”…. He is a piece of excrement.
    • I personally hope PN-G gets 2nd gets to the 2nd round wins the flip against SOC and drag them them to Houston to play
    • I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it. Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1. • Virginia has same day voter registration. A person can literally walk in to the voting location, register and then vote. So the premise that Virginia might be stopping people with a legitimate right to vote is nonsense. From what I gather in the news report, assuming that the ones I have read are correct, the people that were removed, filled out a drivers license registration and marked that they were not an American citizen. Could the person have made a mistake bychecking the box incorrectly? Although unlikely it is certainly possible. That same person who was removed can go into the same voting location where he would have voted and again, complete a voter registration and then vote.  That went into the Supreme Court’s decision.  If such a person votes by registering on election day, he fills out a provisional ballot. Provisional ballots are not originally counted and or not counted unless needed. For example….  Statewide there are 500 provisional ballots cast. A person wins the election by 4,000 votes. That would be no need to count the provisional ballots as it will not matter. Then let’s say there are 5,000 provisional ballots cast in the election. One candidate then wins the election by only 1,500 votes. In that case, the election could definitely swing on those provisional ballots. The state will then investigate each person to make sure they live at the correct address listed and that they are American citizens. If these things are correct, the vote will then be counted. Safe Harbor is not untillll…… I think December 17th this year so there will be six weeks to verify the provisional ballots if needed. The purging of the names of people who checked a state form saying that they were not an American citizen, will not stop that same person from voting.
