It would be GREAT if we could get Barbay.  He is a brilliant mind and a class act!!

David Bailiff just became available… he would be a major upgrade with lots of Texas connections. The only downfall is he is up there in age and in a few years Lamar would be looking for a head coach again but he could get Lamar going and start winning rather quickly.

Any successful coach would be short term anyway. They would be moving on.

Nobody of good value is going to go to Lamar to be head coach. There’s nothing Lamar can provide that they can’t get at any other small d1. LU is a bottom rung athletic program in a undesirable refinery and crime infested area. LU sports has historically ignored local talent for years. If you’re going to only win a couple of games in multiple years, Atleast try to make 75% of your roster local talent. You may be surprised what happens.

Correct.  Made the name change a few months back.  Faith based interview will be part of hiring process.

When I posted HCU????  What I meant was could HCU be a possible spot for him. The McNair family has close ties to the university. Might that play a role after last year's Texans speculation?   Massive difference in levels of course understood.

Frank was a coach at Vidor for a year and Orangefield for a year. As well as many other high schools around the state

The more Lamar paid the worse the football program got😑

Yep and now I see they're about to change the name of the Montagne to Neches Federal Credit Union Arena for $3.5 mil. Where's that money going? Are they dancing yet?

Wouldn't one of the successful high school coaches in the area have a better chance to win at LU than most of the middling college coaches that they usually look at who know nothing about the talent in SETX? I know experience matters, but it can't get any worse than it already is. Just a thought,
