myrecordwashorrible Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 There are likely quite a few situations like that with a school on the edge of its district and bordering another school district. Oak Ridge is slightly closer to Spring High than it is to Buddy Moorehead in Conroe. According to Texas Bob, Oak Ridge utilizes it and Woodforest Bank stadium. Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 LCM93, my turn to call you out! Lol. I was referencing it's distance to Moorhead in Conroe. Mentioned Woodforest because Texas Bob states it uses both as a home facility. I believe all of Conroe ISD uses Moorehead at one time. TrojanMoJo 1 Quote
Cougar14.2 Posted August 12, 2022 Report Posted August 12, 2022 I think it’s all about how that off campus environment correlates with your team. Playing district schools like Summer Creek, Kingwood Park and Humble all at Turner never felt like a huge disadvantage outside of the officiating. There are no logos on the field or end zones and not much difference in the home and away side seating. It always felt/feels more neutral than a huge home field advantage. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Glenda Dawson High which is seven miles away from Pearland ISD Stadium. Playing Dawson at The Rig when the Eagles are rolling is one off the more crazy environments in THSF. This year two of Crosby’s four away games are against the Baytown schools at Stallworth Stadium. Again, no logos on the field outside of the generic white district logo and no paint in the end zones. The two Baytown schools we play away are relatively close to Stallworth but they’ll probably still feel like Crosby home games. I think it’s the community and crows that make the stadium feel like home, not necessarily the colors on the field. Quote

BADSANTA Posted August 17, 2022 Report Posted August 17, 2022 Happens in Cypress, Katy, and Houston all the time. You can play at home and be the road team. WOSdrummer99 1 Quote
