It seems like Crosby is struggling big time right now.  I think the most exciting matchup in this district will be Sterling v Nederland.  Basically, it appears to be a battle for 2nd place between these two teams (unless Crosby turns it around), because I would be surprised if BH loses even a set in district play.

BH is going to roll through district. Sterling shouldn’t have any problems going 2nd.
I’ve given up hope that we will put the right lineup out there to be successful. We have the talent if they’re played correctly to hang with anyone but it doesn’t seem like she’s ever going to do that or knows how to do that. It’s sad.

So with Crosby beating Sterling, has the district already been decided in the first week of district play?

I do not think so. A lot of volleyball left to be played. I think it shows a more competitive district this year. I think you are going to see a lot of battles, and maybe even splits. I think that will make for possibly some interesting tie breakers at the end.

Totally agree. Every set in that game was close. Could have gone either way. Also, anyone can win 1 game so anything can happen still.

Just being facetious, the district is far from settled.  The Eagles are really good, but they are not invincible; no one is.  They need to have the intensity in district play that they showed during non-district/tournament play.  With each match the pressure builds for BH and the target on them gets bigger.  Continuous focus on BH can be freeing for the other programs.

Everyone wants to beat BH! Always and at every sport! We all know how good they are. They will see everyone’s best each game and they have weaknesses that smart players will use against them.  I think they’ll still get through district unscathed though. Nobody else has that much talent and coaching on one team to knock them off.

Looks like BH just bulldozing and Nederland is starting to get into a groove, should be a good match this Friday.  Little surprised that Sterling didn't handle GCM a little better.  I see Sterling did win in 3, but the set scores are not what I would expect.

2nd round should be interesting. There will most likely be 3 teams 5-2 going into it. I’m just glad we’ll be at home for both Sterling and Nederland and we seem to have settled into a good lineup after losing a key player.

What is interesting is the difference between 2nd seed and 3rd/4th is huge. You do not want to play Friendswood or Manvel 1st round.

2nd-4th will be determined by next Friday. Hopefully we can hold it together this go around. I don’t want Manvel or Friendswood.

Manvel or Friendswood would be a tall order for the 3rd and 4th place teams.  The 2nd place team in this district should be the favorite over Santa Fe, La Porte, or GBall.

Does PNG have a realistic shot at making the playoffs? If they don’t make the playoffs, that will be the first time for the Noos to miss the playoffs since the early 1970’s. All good things must come to an end!

I would say they do not have a good chance.  BH beat Crosby last night and Sterling beat Nederland so if PNG can beat one of those schools they may can sneak in. Crosby has Sterling Friday, if Crosby beats Sterling again then I'd say PNG is toast but if Crosby loses then maybe they have a chance to atleast tie them up.

With the loss to GCM last night, it looks like PNG would have to run the table the rest of the way to have a shot at the playoffs. That was an amazing 40 plus year run for the Noos!
