KF89
2022 INFO- Texas City had a big season with 10 wins and an area round playoff appearance and with six starters back on offense and defense, Coach Surovik’s squad is poised to challenge in a district that got tougher with the addition of powerful Fort Bend Marshall team. RB- Caleb Bell (1,123 yards, 19 TDs rushing) had a big sophomore season and is the workhorse for Texas City’s offense, but he’ll run behind a young offensive line. DE- Szyron Scott (39 tackles, 16 TFL, 12 sacks), fresh off a sensational sophomore campaign, is a disruptive force on the defensive line. LB- Camryn Grief (59 tackles, 14 TFL, 1 sack) also returns after a big sophomore season. Aside from inexperience on the offensive line, the biggest question mark will be depth in the defensive front seven. 2021 Results- 10-2 Overall, Area Finalist / 6-1 District Record Lettermen R/L- 30/17 Returning Starters- Offense- 6 Defense- 6 Impact Players QB-Joey Duran- 5-8, 160, 4.7-40yd speed DE- Szyron Scot-t 6-2, 205, 4.6-40yd speed RB- Caleb Bell- 5-10, 235, 4.5-40yd speed OL- Caden Teeples- 5-11, 225, 4.8-40yd speed DB- Aldrick Stromile- 6-1, 200, 4.7-40yd speed TE/DE- Evan Tullos- 6-1, 210, 4.7-40yd speed LB- Camryn Grief- 6-2, 190, 4.7-40yd speed DT- Christian White- 5-11, 240, 4.9-40yd speed RB/DB- Maurice Burton- 5-10, 165, 4.6-40yd speed Top Prospects WR/DB- Clyde Burton III RB- Trini Garcia DT- Bryce Williams RB- Ricky Green WR- Kenyon Parker DB- Evan Simmons
KF89
2022 INFO- After an undefeated regular season the Marshall Buffs took a stunning defeat in the 1st rd. of the playoffs a year ago. Coach Williams says the newly aligned district is much tougher top to bottom, but that could mean his squad will be battle tested come playoff time. ATH-Ja'Koby Banks (1,358 yards, 22 TDs passing; 1,093 yards, 19 TDs rushing) is one of the state’s most dynamic players who can play multiple positions although it’s likely he directs the offense once again. RBs- Jy Wortham (569 yards, 9 TDs rushing) and Jarrod Howard (352 yards, 6 TDs rushing) will likely split carries in Marshall’s up-tempo spread offense. The defensive line is loaded with FBS prospects, led by Zachary Chapman (37 tackles, 2 sacks) and Trent Thomas (45 tackles, 9 TFL, 2 sacks), while the always speedy Buffs secondary will be outstanding, led by Michael Patterson (30 tackles, 3 INTs). 2021 Results- 10-1 Overall, Bi-District Finalist / 8-0 District Record Lettermen R/L- 26/28 Returning Starters- returning Offense- 6 Defense- 6 Impact Players DB- Michael Patterson- 6-0, 180, 4.4- 40yd speed ATH- Ja’Koby Banks- 5-10, 170, 4.5- 40yd speed RB- Jy’Adrian Wortham- 6-0, 175, 4.5- 40yd speed WR- Ja’Kayden Ferguson- 6-3, 170, 4.5- 40yd speed DL- Zachary Chapman- 6-6, 270, 4.8- 40yd speed DL- Trent Thomas- 6-6, 245, 4.7- 40yd speed OL- Anthony Chatman- 6-3, 285, 4.9- 40yd speed RB- Jarrod Howard- 5-11, 185, 4.5- 40yd speed DT- Koryn Randals- 6-1, 260, 4.9- 40yd speed Top Prospects QB- Jordan Davis DE- Logan Granville OL Bieshawn Mitchell LB- Jordan Sample OL Jaron Wallace DB- Donovan Jackson DT- Reginald Willis WR- Ke’von Misher

He inherits an experienced squad that had a disappointing 2021 season that missed out on the playoffs. There are two experienced QBs on the roster in Blaize Covington (862 yards, 10 TDs passing) and Hightower transfer Kendron Penson Jr. (2,111 yards, 20 TDs passing; 5 TDs rushing). WR- Marxquise Hayes (19-315, 5 TDs receiving) and WR- Travis Willis will lead a dynamic group of receivers, Hayes also led the district in interceptions in 2021. The defense is full of experience and young talent led by junior DE- Steven Brantley and sophomore DL- Royce Wilson. KF89
Santa Fe 2022 INFO- It’s been a rough go for the Indians, who are in a 14-game losing streak, but they are hopeful a new head coach in former Texas City assistant Blake Ryder can turn things around. Coach Ryder inherits an experienced squad that graduated just eight players from a year ago, so there is some positive momentum. RB/LB- Jackson Stroud (78 tackles) is a three-year starter and kick-blocking specialist who blocked four kicks a year ago. WR/DB- Kyeler Thompson and OL/DL- Anthony Arcidiacono are a pair of four-year starters who bring plenty of experience to the table for Sante Fe. RB/LB- Bryce Leal (81 tackles) had a big sophomore season, while OL Weaver started all 10 games up front as a sophomore. KF89
2022 INFO- Coach Amarantos has GPHS on solid footing with back-to-back playoff appearances but UIL Realignment did the Jackets no favors as they move east into a much tougher district. Galena Park runs the flexbone offense so they are always a tough matchup, but there will be a lot of youth with RB- Jordan Balderas (721 yards, 8 TDs rushing) leading the way after a good sophomore season. Sophomore QB- Daniel Gomez is expected to step in and lead the attack. When the ‘Jackets decide to put the ball in the air, they’ll look to WR- Jonathan Renteria (18-441, 2 TDs receiving). Galena Park’s defense will lead the way with six starters back, led by three-year starter DL Marshall (38 tackles, 21 TFL) and junior DB- Keenon Thomas (25 tackles, 2 INTs). 2021 Results- 8-3 Overall, Bi-District Finalist / 7-1 District Record Lettermen R/L- 17/22 Returning Starters- Offense- 4 Defense- 6 Impact Players DL- Timothy Marshall- 6-2, 280 DB- Keenon Thomas- 5-8, 150, 4.5 LB- Sebastian Bernal- 5-10, 215, 4.8 RB- Jordan Balderas- 5-9, 170, 4.6 WR- Jonathan Renteria- 5-10, 165, 4.5 QB- Daniel Gomez- 6-1, 195, 4.7 DL- Diego Quantanilla- 6-1, 225, 4.9 DB- Vincent Lopez- 5-7, 155, 4.6 OL- Rueben Escobar- 6-1, 295 Top Prospects OL- Justin Leal OL- Jorge Garcia

Hubert (38 tackles, 3 INTs) and Vernon Harrison (23-295, 2 TDs receiving; 550 yards 3 TDs rushing; 52 tackles, 1 INT) are dynamic playmakers who Coach Ware says will contribute on both sides of the ball. Coach Barrow says the Bulldogs newly realigned district will still be very tough so the Bulldogs will need some young players to rise to the occasion. The offense is led by receiver Reeve Barrow (20-270, 3 TDs receiving). OL- Jack Bieber is a massive force in the trenches and will be the anchor for the Bulldogs offensive line. On defense, DE- Landen Caywood is back after leading the team with five sacks a year ago. KF89
2022 INFO- Fresh off a trip to the regional semifinals PNG welcomes back 15 starters and a new head coach as former Southlake Carroll special teams assistant Jeff Joseph arrives at the reservation with big shoes to fill replacing the winningest head coach in png history. The Indians offense is led by QB- Cole Crippen (3,019 yards, 35 TDs passing) and a pair of solid receivers in Chance Prosperie (82-1,374 yards, 14 TDs receiving) and Landon Guarnere (56-785 yards, 12 TDs receiving), so expect Port Neches-Groves to continue to be one of the state’s most dynamic offensive teams. The key for the Indians to take the next step to becoming a real player statewide in 5A Division II will be the progression of their defense.
