AggiesAreWe Posted August 22, 2022 Report Posted August 22, 2022 This game has been moved to Thursday night, 7pm. Game still in Evadale. Game was moved because of lack of game officials. I see this happening often this season for smaller classifications until district play starts. KF89 1 Quote

WR/DB- Jody Isbell and WR/DB- Ethan Buford (14-365, 5 TDs receiving) are the top skill players returning, while DL- Casey Lewis (87 tackles, 4 sacks) is back and will lead the defense. Coach Buckner says despite the returning experience of 7 starters on each side of the ball, his team still has some youth, most notably in the trenches. I would tend to agree here because Tarkington is so young. Most of their impact players are Sophmores. Coach Taylor and his staff are working really hard with these kids, it's nice to see a little excitement in the area about football again. I think it will take them a couple games and a few more weeks of practice to get something really started. Most of these kids are still trying to learn the system. My hat's off to Coach Taylor though in what he's trying to do here. Hopefully the community, the decision makers and most importantly the kids give him a chance to build something here. KF89 1 Quote

Tarkington will return six starters on both sides of the ball with the offense being led by sophomore WR- Junior Ma’Alaelu, who started all nine games as a freshman. He could have a breakout season, especially if junior QB- Stephen Pavlat adjusts quickly to the new scheme. RB- Brandon Pitty has good size and speed. TE/LB- Brandon Bullock, OL/DL- Nathan Wells & OL/DL- Dylan James are expected to be major contributors on both sides of the ball. 2021 Results- 0-9 / 0-6 District Record Lettermen R/L- 15/15 Starters returning- Offense- 6 Defense- 6 Impact Players WR- Junior Ma’Alaelu- 6-3, 175, 4.6 TE/LB- Jordan Bullock- 6-0, 215, 4.8 QB- Stephen Pavlat- 6-2, 180, 4.9 DB- Tanner Johnson- 5-10, 165, 4.6 OL/DL- Nathan Wells- 6-2, 265, 4.9 OL- Jonathan Morgan- 5-9, 260 RB/LB- Brandon Pitty- 5-10, 195, 4.6 OL/DL- Dylan James- 6-2, 235 TE/LB- Gunner Moore- 5-10, 200, 4.9 Top Prospects TE/LB Michael Galvan RB/LB Karson Jones FYI, Stephen Pavlat is not the QB as he's moved to Splendora.
