If the DAWGS start the game like they did last night Newton will have that much in the first quarter. 

Fortunately, the rest of the game 6 pts. more is all Palestine was able to get.

8 of those 22 I  must point out were not on the defense. A safety and a td were results of bad/high snaps  on punt attempts. 

TyAnthony Smith will be back in the line up on defense after not playing the past 2 weeks.  His presence on the field has been missed.

As a Newton fan, but a realest, I think Jasper will take this game. With that being said, Newton will get better from this game and so will Jasper. Newton needs to step up on their offence and become more balanced in today's game. They do not have D-1 athletes all over the field anymore and can't just run the ball over and over and then pass deep down the field on long 3rd and 4th downs. I'd personally like to see short passes mixed up on early downs to keep defenses spread out a little more, which opens up our run game. I mean, you can pound it every play, but it only works against the low level teams. I think Newton will do just fine in 3A-D2 this season. I think Newton can play with any team in 3A-D2 and will have a great year, but will come up short against the bigger school this year. Good luck to both teams this week.

You're right, especially about this week. Jasper's run defense should be better now that TyAnthony Smith is back, Newton's probably going to have to throw more than they want to in this game. The key in my mind is how our offense matches up with the Eagles' defense. I'll take the Dawgs in a close one, 26-20.

To the Children of Newton and Jasper don’t let these grownups put hatred and immaturity into y’all’s hearts. It’s about Football and about pride but mostly for the love of the game. Over the years I’ve watched our towns grow and watch how you kids have became cool and support each other even practice with each other to make each other better. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day neither team will ever compete against each other in a game that matters other than pride. So you young men continue to be great and best of luck to both of y’all on your season journey.

If jasper plays a good game they will win…. I graduated from Newton I keep up with them but they haven’t showed me enough to pick them over a decent team yet I hope they prove me wrong but until then I say they start the season 1-3 because I don’t see them beating wos hope I’m wrong 🙏
