I agree.  This year they’ve put the Triangle on the back burner.  You’d thought LCM would get some air time.  And PNG VS WOS, I don’t think they had that one.  Not happy with them so far.

I don't think its Texan Live, I think its the local school districts.  I could be and may very well be wrong but I believe its up to the school districts to decide if they want Texan Live to broadcast their game/s.

How do they pick their selections? I haven't seen a local game in 2 weeks.

It's all about what school districts are contracted to TL. I only know of 7-8 schools locally that have contracts with them.

This weeks lineup that has our coverage area teams:

Baytown Sterling at Kingwood Park

Crosby at Barbers Hill

New Caney Porter at PA Memorial

Navasota at Huffman

Hamshire-Fannett at Splendora

Liberty at East Chambers

Silsbee at Brazosport

Last weeks lineup:

Galena Park at Splendora

Silsbee at Nederland

Kingwood Park at New Caney Porter

Humble at Spring Dekaney

Las Vegas Liberty at Atascocita

Spring Westfield at North Shore

Baytown Lee at Crosby

CE King at Pearland

Week before that:

Huffman at Silsbee

Hamshire-Fannett at East Chambers

Atascocita at Katy

Clear Falls at Summer Creek

New Caney vs. New Caney Porter

Houston Waltrip at Dayton

Montgomery at Barbers Hill

PN-G at Beaumont United

Klein Forest at Humble

FB Marshall at Crosby

This is correct

Yeah, some of the schools have contracts with someone else, Nederland for example.   I don't know if PNG has one but doesn't KOGT do some of the Orange County games?

I have a friend who is in the know on these types of things, and he has told me it's pretty expensive for these districts to contract with Texan Live. Especially when most schools are now supporting AV departments who are capable of streaming live on YouTube for much less. Anahuac does this on their channel "Anahuac Sports Live", and the video and audio quality is significantly better than what you sometimes get on Texan Live.

Your friend is wrong. TL buys the video rights from the schools, not the other way around.

Not video, just audio.

PN-G has a contract with TL

I feel the same. And we both know dave Campbell's spends time with peevy in interviews.. might as well cancel subscription until playoffs.

From my understanding no Orange County school has a contract with TL.

As for the PN-G/WO-S game, I believe the lack of facility (press box under construction) was why that game was not on TL.

My thinking also. I'm wasting money not being able to see WOS. We should get that contract with Texan Live.

Well heck. You'd think every school in the state would take advantage of a deal like that.

Texan Live isn't big enough to buy that many. Don't forget, they pay UIL for all the playoff games.

Some schools turn down TL because they have their own video production. TL also doesn't solicit every local school. It's about viewership and potential sponsorship for those broadcasts.

For those of you in the know.....could a school, especially if said school is the home team have the right to bar a live video feed of a game?

Example to me is Anahuac.  May wish to go see them play, but if I can watch it on my phone, well.....decision to be made.  Could another school have the right to block it in order to increase attendance?

I know some sports management professors and they could "nerd out" discussing an issue like this.

According to UIL, a broadcast entity has to have permission from both schools to broadcast that game.

If a school has sold their video broadcast rights to an outside entity, that entity reserves the right to allow or disallow another video broadcast at that home school's stadium. Sometimes it's mainly about having enough space in a press box for two video broadcasts. Other times it's about $$$. If one entity has the rights and they charge to watch their broadcast, it's highly unlikely that they would allow a free video broadcast to do that same game at the home stadium.

In Anahuac's case (and others similar) who have their own video production, they can deny another schools video broadcast at Anahuac's home stadium. They have the video rights. Just remember, if a school denies another school broadcast access, expect the same to be done to you when you go to their stadium. This is only for regular season games. All playoff games are under Texan Live video rights.

They did have Silsbee vs Vidor the first week.  I can understand why they haven’t shown Vidor again.  😂😂😂👽👽😂😂😂
