Serious question… how are the participation numbers at United?

Do they have a lot of kids out for football as a whole?   My brother was at the game, and said the United dance team had 5 girls on it, and the band was extremely small in numbers too.

Wondering if the football program is suffering from lack of participation and interest as well.   There’s something to that.    Back in the day, you wouldn’t have seen an Ozen, or Central with such low numbers.

The dance sponsor at Ozen was the same one that started at BU.  She likes to have about 7 girls on the dance team, so the tryouts are rigorous.  And they have cuts every week. So you’ll probably see a new group of girls each week.  So the numbers for the dance team is not down.

Band?  Definitely yes.  BU had like 90 kids out for band when BU opened in 2018.  Now I counted like 23 kids.  But the numbers at WB are severely down.  Many people blame Covid for that.  I don’t know.

But as far as I know, the football team had some pretty good numbers to start the season.  At least more than the previous coach.
